I’m not sure…I think it seems like your emotions got the best of you and you blurted your frustrations. If you said id 100% deliberately to hurt him, then I think it would be grave. But I’m no expert!

It’s specified by one of the Ten Commandments (Honor your father and your mother).

The other criteria: It must be committed with full knowledge, both of the sin and of the gravity of the offense and It must be committed with deliberate and complete consent, enough for it to have been a personal decision to commit the sin. Only you can know the answer to…

If you blurted it out with no intent or personal decision to commit the sin, then no… not grave.
But if you thought about it for a moment and still said it, then yes I suppose it would be.

Either way, you have 48 hours to get to confession. Obviously it’s bothering you to the point that you are asking the question here and it’s weighing on your mind, so you might as well go ahead and get it done.

If it were me, I would try to get to reconciliation before Sunday morning if possible.
Just my personal feelings on it.

I’m not sure either but I’d mention it the next time you go to confession and let your priest decide.

Hi! I am Greek Orthodox and seeing your post I will like to mentioned that you are just engage in a squabble. At least you are. I don’t think you have to see your priest everytime you do this. You might make your priest uneasy since the fight or arguement is not that great. I mean if you had awaken your neighbours then I will try to see my priest. OK. Let me tell you a story that will explain better about confession and so on. A man and a woman had a great fight. They were married. Couples do engage in fighting. It is common practice. I will be more worried over couples who do not fight than for those who do! Now later on the man realized what he had done and he went back to his wife and apologized. His wife accepted and they are happy again. When he went to confession to his Confessor who was Fr.Alexander Schuemann an excellent and holy Orthodox priest he relayed the story to him. The priest looked at him and said " why are you bothering me with this. You made up with her didn’t you. So don’t bring it up. There is no need to once you have reconciled." Confession deals with unreconcililation. If you have made up with the one you had a difference with then there is no need to go to confession! This is what the holy priest was talking about. God Bless!
