Well, now we can add vulgarity to your list of ineffective argument techniques.

We have ad hominem.
We have straw men.
And now we have just plain crudeness without even a pretense of addressing the argument.

Your childish attempts to distract with scandal still do not address the argument at hand. Rather it causes people to question the person you are. It is sort of a ad hominem in reverse. You malign your case by maligning yourself.

Okay, while I don’t thin there was any evil intent on the part of the artist, they did make the stomach a little too obvious. Most of the San Damiano crosses I’ve seen have more subtle detail in the stomach area. Your previous post with the two San Damiano Crosses has one (the second one) similar to the ones I have. Those, too, have an apparent phallus if you look closely, but it’s more subtle and is the ancient image, from what I understand.

While I can see how one might think that it’s a phallus, the proportions are WAAAAAAAAAAAY off. A phallus of that size, even erect, is physiologically impossible on a human, even a Divine One.

Still, it might be a good idea to do a retouch to de-emphasize His abdomen by reshading the detail but otherwise, it’s not that bad.

I remember back in the early 1980’s going to a Catholic Carmelite Hermitage called Nova Nada located in southeastern Nova Scotia. A relatively small Church was built on the site.
I remember spending a Tridium retreat at this hermitage. Inside the Church on the sanctuary wall was a nude black corpse that represented Christ crucified on the cross.
It was very humbling to me to see the figure of Christ nude on this large crucifix.
After all our Dear Lord was nude when he was crucified on the Cross.

However; the depiction I saw was far more dignified than the San Damiano Cross pictured in this post.
