Why would you think its morally offensive? I’ve seen hundreds of pictures with animals in humorous situations with funny captions.
 
why should it be immoral?

if it pertains to the Catholic practice of abstinence, then it isn’t immoral for be, but quite sad. the poster obviously has no idea about the topic.

No, I am not offended. It seems like the sort of picture children would take of their family dog and think was funny. We have a running joke around our table about how certain foods are going to “clog our arteries”.

Context is everything, though. I mean, if it appeared on a website mocking Catholics and trying to portray them as dogs or something, then some people would be offended.

Me, on first sight, it looks like a family type of picture. Is there something I am missing?

It was about Korean food. The poster was complaining about this one kind of fish known as the Kugelfish (in German) and the fugu (in japanese) the most poisoness animal on Earth. You have to have SPECIAL LICENSE to cook it. The pioson on this fish will kill you seconds, from what I gather.

One person posted a story of Benedict’s temptations in the wilderness and how Benedict always won! And then said,
“don’t forget to bless and cross your food…just in case”.

To which another responded in the following manner she said,
“Bless us Oh Lord, and these thy gifts, which we are about to recieve through Christ our Lord. Amen”

After the doggy picture shown above, she added, “This doggy is praying that the red meat won’t kill him.”
 
I think, that if that is the punch line, it ain’t working.

My response is “What?”.
 
has a humorous tint to it, but its a question of appropriateness. making grace a joke with a dog, isnt completely appropriate, therefore i find it slightly offensive. definitely not something i’d pass on. but i think its like so low on the venial sin ladder that you practically have to be scrupulous to be offended persay.
 
you posted a link without telling us anything about the site or its contents or about the picture, or about why it might be offensive. do you really think we are such internet neophytes to click on a link like that?
 
Now, if the dog and his buddies were playing poker, you’d be getting on the fighting side of some fundamentalist forums (fora?).

From this description it sounds joking and not offensive. As an aside, I don’t think I’d try the Kugelfish.:bigyikes:
 
The cigarettes in the picture are going to kill the doggie long before the meat will :tsktsk:

P.S. Anyone offended by this picture really needs to reduce the sensitivity on their outrage meter. Anthropomorphizing animals is a gentle and fun way of poking fun at ourselves as humans. This isn’t a dig at the act of saying grace.

Not offensive. Though my MIL makes her dog “pray” the Our Father so what do I know.

As some people go out of their way to be offended, it is frustrating to me, since I converted to Catholic I try very hard not offend.

So what do I do?
I guess say I’m sorry and mark it up to experience?

The dog looks the dog from Get Fuzzy and I like that comic.
I am a dog surrounded by smart alleck cats.
