Is this proper? Disciples chnaged to Brothers & Sisters

During the consecration our priest often changes the word disciples to “brothers and sisters” or to “friends”. I have found where saying “friends” is acceptable, but I can find nothing stating where he can substitute “brothers & sisters” for disciples. Is this change allowed? :confused:

“He broke the bread and gave it to his disciples and said take this…”

He is to read the words as printed in the book, nothing more, nothing less.
 
He should not have changed the words, but it did not invalidate the Mass (unless he also changed the words "This is my body … this is … my blood …).
 
One of the approved Eucharistic prayers uses the word friends; he was probably using that prayer. It is usually used at children’s masses or ones where a lot of children will be in attendance.

I don’t know about ‘brothers and sisters’ but you could ask the priest (politely).
 
I’ve often fantasized about our PP walking into the two most absolutely left-field parishes in the City and saying, “Jesus, the unmarried male son of God, said to the twelve unmarried men who were his disciples…”

He’d need an armed guard to get out of the place
