Is this remote or proximate cooperation with evil?

Certain organizations are very involved with the homosexual rights agenda, providing medical benefits to gay employees’ partners, paying for surgery for employees who want to undergo sex change, and donating a lot of money to homosexual rights groups. My question is: would buying from these companies be remote or proximate material cooperation? I’m just not quite sure–it’s hard to tell.
 
On the one hand, it seems pretty proximate–I mean, these companies are directly involved in these evils, and by giving them money, you’re “materially cooperating” closely with such evils. On the other hand, I’ve been known to misjudge such things before.
In addition, the reason I ask this is because my roommate and I have been using AT&T for internet services in our apartment. AT&T happens to be one of these companies. I’ve looked for other available internet services here, and so far haven’t been able to find any (I’ll continue looking). If we stop using AT&T, we’ll be pretty much without internet (there is one public network, but the service goes in and out and is very poor).

Either way, though, I’m realizing there isn’t suffience moral reason to keep AT&T. Yes, we’d be inconvenienced without it, but that definitely does NOT outweigh AT&T’s involvement in immorality.
So now I just have to figure out how to explain this to her…
