Well…no, I’european, but: 1) Rating is more or less the same here 2) I am over 20, so its not a big issue
To answer your other questions:
Yes, it is pretty violent but being science fiction is not just gratuitously gory or brutal, most of the action is between manned humanoid mechs anyway
No, it is the symbol of the main villains, a mercenary organization called “apex predators” made of humans, all piloting giant mechs, but non having horns or demonic features whatsoever (therefore adding to my confusion, since they have no ties to the occult)
Uh…why should I tell a confessor I’m scrupolous? It’s not a sin or anything…
Ok. It’s a symbol for the villains. Villains are portrayed negatively in film and literature all the time.

Scrupulous people in general have a hard time discerning what is serious sin and what isn’t sinful at all. Having a regular confessor helps put their minds at ease. That’s what I meant, not for this specific question.

The decal seems to be a play on Baphomet, which is associated with Satan, the demonic, and the occult. I don’t think there’s any denying that, even if it wasn’t intentional on the artist’s part. You mentioned that it’s a symbol associated with the villains.

Other than avoiding using the decal yourself, I don’t necessarily think the image itself is a de facto invitation of the occult into your life. Nor do I think you’re playing with fire. Context is everything. If a character in a book uses tarot cards, that doesn’t mean the book is suddenly endorsing using tarot cards or portraying them as harmless fun, even if a specific character sees it that way, for example.

I think the content of the main gameplay is more open to scrutiny than the fact that this decal is used. But don’t just take my one comment as leave to ignore everyone else.

I looked at the picture again. It looks very similar to the logo for Ram trucks.

So, maybe the artists borrowed the logo and made it look more sinister, since it is the logo for villains.

But, a ram is an adult male sheep. Not a goat.

Oooh, I get it. Sure, it’s something I’m really trying to overcome:thumbsup:

I respectfully disagree. If the artist didn’t mean for it to be a demonic skull, then it’s not.
I agree however with the “context” bit: just because something is portrayed does not mean it is endorsed - only a madman would claim that

Possibly, since rams and bulls are meant to inspire strenghth and masculinity, and this game is all about three-stores high mech pounding each other…

Also, really?
As a non-native english speaker, what’s the male goat called?

A male goat is called a billy or a buck.

Here’s a description of the mercenaries Titanfall symbolizes with this image:
They fight for the highest bidder regardless of moral ethics, and will do whatever is required to earn their paycheck.
It doesn’t take much of a stretch to say, given this context, that the game devs were going for something loosely demonic to symbolize a group of “cool” and “scary” and “deadly” elite pilots who have no morals. Demons symbolize things like that all the time in our culture. Demons are evil and they make for a ready icon for other evil things.

The image may or may not be particularly fitting, but the image won’t tell us whether the game glamorizes the demonic. If it did, that would be a problem. The possibly bigger danger of this image is the same as all other images of the sort: there are those for whom the demonic is a bit of a weakness, and they need little encouragement to further open their minds to it.

No it doesen’t
It’s sci fi, execpt maybe for time travel there is absolutely nothing supernatural, much less demonic
It’s about supersoldiers and robots , not magic and demons

I’m sort of wondering why you posted? You are dismissing each answer given to you.

I am not dismissing each answer.
I do listen to people actually giving me motives for their opinions.
Some posts are just plain “wrong” (and of course I do not blame anyone for that, it’s natural that you have different interests and maybe don’t know much about this game. I appreciate the effort anyway)
I dismiss the posts who simply do not give an actual explanation for their opinion
Also, as an extremely insecure and doubtful person, I tend to pry to the point of sounding like the devil’s advocate - to make sure people have considered every possibilty. I don’t mean bad, I just wish to be sure.

Totally overreacting. The picture is fine. How is it even different from the Dodge RAM symbol on their trucks?

I know a guy who wouldn’t let his daughter wear a sheep mask and go as a lamb for Halloween (to their Protestant trunk or treat show). Why? He told me that the lamb resembles the goat…and the goat resembles Baphomet…and Baphomet is the Devil!

I told him that Christ is the Lamb of God. How can a gentle lamb mask be a mistake? He said it’s the Devil trying to subvert and confuse.

Stop overreacting.

You know what?
I think YOU, sir, just said EXACTLY what I needed someone to tell me. 👏
No seriously, thanks. May sound weird but I’m absolutely serious.

I understand friend. I’m just saying try not to examine everything as a slippery slope. Odds are if Satan is trying to get to you, it’s mostly through a weakened moral stance of some kind, not pictures. Like the guy with the lamb mask for his daughter, that’s taking things to an extreme level. What if she has a field trip to a farm and goats are there? What does he do then?

Now, if you have diabolical Slayer or Cradle of Filth posters up in your home instead of a
Divine Mercy portrait, then you may have an issue 😉 And I hope TitanFall 2 is better than TitanFall 1. Right now I’m on Gears 4. If you have Gears and play online, let me know and I’ll send you my gamertag.

Thanks again, and do not worry, I had no idea what cradle of filth was until now, and while I am a metal fan, I deeply dislike black metal and the likes, not just for its crudely disturbing lyrics but for the tune itself of the music…screeching and blood curling screams do not make you an artist…

Also…almost. I almost owned Gow 4 - but having a limited budget, I had to choose during Winter sales - either that, or titanfall 2. Do not despair though- one day it shall be mine…(muahahahaha :D)
Once again, thanks and God truly bless you

I recently bought Titanfall 2, and am enjoying it very much. However, something is troubling me… You see, there is this symbol (vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/titanfall/images/4/4b/ApexPredators.JPG/revision/latest?cb=20170106165738) both in multiplayer (where you can actually wear it as a decal) and extensively in singleplayer (as it is the logo of the main villains)that…kind of looks like a demonic alien goat skull.
…And now, I found a reviewer commonsensemedia.org/users/eliazer?page=1 (although, judging from his reviews, he sounds a little unhinged and paranoid…) claiming it is “a satanic goat skull”…
What do you think? Could it just be (as it is sci fi) just an innocuous fictional alien animal skull - or should I start worrying…?
“Unhinged and paranoid”? Um you are worried about something in a video game. Just something the dev’s put in nothing more.

Didn’t you have a Star Wars thread where you were all worked up about accusations of satanism.
My advise is twofold.
  1. I don’t know where you are getting all of this satanism stuff from but perhaps you should examine that angle.
  2. Apart from satanism your spiritual damage may be in the emotional attachment you seem to have to fantastical things.

Yes without a doubt it’s satanic. So many evil things in this world we need to always be awake!

That’s virtually the same sort of picture that is the emblem/symbol for a Dodge RAM truck. Are those trucks bad now?
