I was sitting on the couch and rubbing my stomach to get a peaceful and calm feeling. Is this sinful?

Why would rubbing your stomach be sinful?
There is no practical reason why ones thoughts run to such questions regarding an innocent action intended to be calming. If we imagine sin in everything we begin to become scrupulous.
Perhaps you also need to rest your mind itself, for instance by imaging yourself in a peaceful place, by the sea, in a forest, by a river, or in a beautiful garden.
Perhaps also to say often, “Jesus I trust in You” could help your spirit to greater calm.
May God bless and guide you.

Dear One,
God loved you into existence, from out of all eternity.
You are precious to God.
He is not a strict taskmaster waiting for you to make a mistake, falling into sin unexpectedly at every turn.
I would most prefer if I could sit with you at any time and reassure you personally, not just about all the little things you fear are sinful, but in general.
In person, one can convey something of the love and kindness that one knows is God’s love within one. My gift from God is that in person, as many have told me, “you have the gift of gentle love” using, independently, and in different places, unknown to each other, these same words, to my surprise, and therefore underlying that it is God’s gift. There are times when I wish I could reach though the internet to share that gift of God, in order to nurture someone towards feeling comforted, and more loved by God, and less afraid.

Jesus said time and time again that what He requires of us is love.
Jesus even said that what He will judge souls on is their love for others, their practical lived-out generosity to others (in little ways as well as big, even a kind smile or word is an act of love. [For His words on that see Matthew 25 verses 31-40] He added that kindness to others is also kindness to Him. And He did also say, “Love others as yourself” We can easily overlook the fact that this requires that we love ourselves…but of course He doesn’t mean self-indulgently, but as someone who is also a loved son or daughter whom
He wishes to share His love with for all eternity. That’s who you are. If you do think you do anything wrong immediately refer it to Him. Just as you would to a loved family member, say, “sorry if I offended you. I’ll keep trying, with Your help”.
I’m a mother, and the love we have for our children is so great that we are ready to forgive immediately, that we only wish good for our children. And Jesus gave us, you, His Father as our Father also when He taught the apostles the Lord’s prayer.

Regards kindness to others, a poem (“But”) by a Divine Word Missionary says it well…and I never was able to say the words out loud with tears creeping up on me!

It was only a sunny smile,
And little it cost in the giving;
But it scattered the night
Like morning light,
And made the day worth living.
Through life’s dark warp a woof it wove
In shining colours of hope and love;
And the angels smiled as they watched above,
Yet little it cost in the giving.

It was only a kindly word, a word that was lightly spoken;
But not in vain,
For it stilled the pain
Of a heart that was nearly broken
It strengthened a faith beset with fears,
And groping blindly through mists of tears,
For light to brighten the coming years,
Although it was lightly spoken.

It was only a helping hand
And it seemed of little availing;
But its clasp was warm,
And it saved from harm
A brother whose strength was failing.
Its touch was tender as angels’ wings
But it rolled the stone from the hidden springs
And pointed the way to higher things,
Though it seemed of little availing.

Anyway, God bless you, and may God help you towards a wonderful, loving relationship with others and with Him.

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”[1 John 4:18]

“Oh goodness! I accidently plucked a hair out, IM GOING TO HELL!!”

^ That is a scenario in relation to what I heard from this thread.

I’m scrupulous too, but not this scrupulous.
If you done it for sexual pleasure, then yes, it could be sinful.

But to please your stomach from a tummy ache, that is like saying I took some medicine, now I got to go to confession.

I’m not making fun of you, because scruplocity is a very harsh condition, I have it. I understand how hard it is to understand what is morally acceptable because we really want our souls to be almost perfect to the Lord, or else he may kick us out! … but the Lord is not out to get us, he loves us and will never let our soul fall into hell fire.

“If you done it for sexual pleasure, then yes, it could be sinful.”

Of course if it’s done for sexual pleasure - as anything can become a fetish - then yes.

But if rubbing your tummy is like rubbing your aching feet to sooth them, or putting in eye drops to sooth dry eyes then no.

But I think you are asking this question because it has become a habit for you when you lie down. And it’s a habit to rub your tummy because it feels good and because it’s a habit that “feels good”, you think that your motive might be impure. Is that right? Don’t worry about it. Nah. It sounds like a good relaxation technique to me.

It’s for pleasure, but not sexual pleasure. I guess it’s mainly for relaxation and I like my stomach rubbed :o
