Is this too far-fetched?

I have a very strange feeling that God is calling me to be some sort of missionary to the Iberian people (Spain and Portugal). I don’t know what it is, but I identify extremely well with that culture and I speak the languages even though I don’t have any Portuguese or Spanish heritage. I’m also learning Arabic which is the language of most of the immigrants to the Iberian Peninsula. With the questionable relativism and atheism of today’s Europe, I feel called to bring Christ back to the people that, at hear, truly love Him but seem to have lost their way. 🤷

Me and my crazy ideas…or maybe it’s not my idea at all:confused: 😃

I don’t think it’s all that crazy. Spain is one of the most liberal countries in Europe, despite its Catholic heritage. I go there at least once a year, and I do feel that Spain’s in need of a religious jolt…as is the U.S. Some people go to Mass just like they are going to a bar, just as something to do. If you feel a call to go there, go!

I would say that you can always start to discern by praying, going to mas, reading the Bible. At the same time, you can bring the love of Jesus to your own family, neighborhood, and parish.

Many times, I too had thoughts about going far and far away for such mission, but then I fail to do the same task within my own family.

No, doesn’t sound “crazy” at all. Can you do some research, first… and find out if there are any established missions in the area your attracted to? It might be a way to get a foot in the door, so to speak. Maybe you can work with them… and get a feel for it. Will keep you in my prayers. God bless. 🙂

Go with it. Sounds to me like you’re being called. You’re experiencing a real blessing here. Don’t lose it…Roanoker
