I heard that a couple who are seeking an anulement to finally get married by church, went to a prist for confession; and this priest told them , he could not absolve them because they were living in sin.
The priest was correct as far as he went. They are not validly married in the eyes of the Church and therefore they sin every time they have relations. BUT, if they live without relations until they are married in the Church, they MAY go to Confession and receive the Eucharist.
