Hello,

My mother told me today that if you die during Holy Week you go straight to heaven (my uncle just passed away). Nobody in the family ever heard of this so is it true? Thank you.

The idea that if anyone dies during a certain calendar period they go to heaven is simply not true. It is perhaps a popular legend but it has no basis in Church teaching or theology. That being said, your mother is probably in a state of grief and might just be using things she’s heard during her lifetime as a temporary comfort and as such this most likely is not the time to give her a lesson in theology.
