Husband and I have been growing steadily apart for two years. We are on very different pages now due to changes in work, and location.

Is it a bad idea to want to go back to a situation where we were the happiest?
To try to reconnect and recapture the fun of being together we had in the place and circumstance?

Yes, this is wrong thinking. No use pining for days gone by. Time has passed. Circumstances have changed. You both have changed, too. You need to find ways to reconnect and be close again in the here and now.

This is too vague to give an answer… 😦

You cannot go back to the time and place, but you can look back and learn from what it had to teach. It might take trial and error–that is OK. One of the lessons may be how you each have changed, which is why it would not work even to go back to the same time and place. Still, the time had something to tell you about what gives you contentment. Not everyone has that, because not everyone has known contentment at any time in their lives. So yes, of course, look back at that time for clues about how to go forward. Just realize that you will have to change the recipe to fit where you are and what you have to work with today.

Sorry running dude,
Full story if under Family Life:
