Is using a prayer book during Communion okay?

Is it licit to discreetly use a prayer book while waiting to rise to receive Communion and after receiving while others are still coming forward?
 
Sure. Personally, I sometimes read from one of the devotional magazines offered in the literature racks in the vestibule of my parish. As long as one’s reading material is appropriate to a reverential attitude expected during Communion, using such material as an aid to prayer is fine.
