Is using astrology as entertainment a sin?

I have a family member who likes to entertain himself with astrology. I have told him that it was a sin but he says its only a sin if believed and he says he doesn’t believe in it.
Could someone shed light on this?

Yes. Not only is it sinful, but it opens spiritual doors. It is like inviting demons into one’s life. There are no circumstances under which astrology or other occult activities may be used strictly for fun, even if they are not believed. People who don’t believe that spirits can really be summoned by means of a Ouija board have ended up having some serious demonological problems. Astrology is fire, don’t play with it and expect not to be burned.

There are plenty of ways for one to have entertainment without looking to things that will invite evil into your life in a very very literal way. It is not harmless… it may as well be Tarot cards.
