Other symbols such as the amulet, Talisman, ankh, athame, circle, rune, sigil, tarot, wand & witches ladder are associated with Wicca and have some connection with Satanism.

Consider truth. Remember, it’s not a question of your truth of my truth, but universal truth as in one plus one is two.
I will go through here and show how wrong you are on several of these things. Amulets and talismans are pieces of jewelry, usualy inscribed with a symbol or blessed, it would be perfectly possible to make a Christian talisman or amulet by slapping a cross on it and getting it blessed.

The ankh was used by early Christians, are you suggesting they were connected to satanism?

The Athame is a knife, you can find a knife in just about any house in the world.

The circle is a geometric shape, it is not inherantly anything. To suggest using circles is connected with satanism is to call every school child a satanist.

Runeic is a language, are you claiming that the ancient Germanic people’s who invented this language were satanist?

Sigils were used by many cultures including ancient Jews. We’re ancient Jews satanists?

I’m pretty shur satanists don’t use wands, but then again neither do I anyway.

And lastly the witches ladder is not used by satanists.

You talk about truth, well know it before you make claims like this. The majority of this stuff is not used by satanist and is infact connected to other cultures not at all related to the worship of Satan.

Withcraft is falsely associated with Satanism, thats true. I meant to say occult. Sometimes a Christian can interchange “occult” with Satanism because Satanism is part of the occult. Poor usage on my part. Yes the items and names have different origins but they are used for different purposes.

Ok, thank you. You are correct that satanism would fall under the occult. I’m sorry if I came of as aggressive but I dont like being called a devil worshiper any more than anyone else.

I understand your feelings.

Why not? What would be so bad about it? Do you think he MAY exist?
I beleave there may exist malevolent entity’s which use the name Satan or Lucifer for shock value. However I don’t believe in a sort of ultimate, purely evil entity. What’s insulting about it is that first it (name removed by moderator)lies that my religion is a lie, and second that I worship ultimate evil.

Your religion is certainly false.

Well, before we hijack this thread ill say that if you want to discuss the validity of my religion that’s fine, but let’s do it somewhere else as not to change the subject of this thread.

And my answer to your quote would be “No, it’s not”.

Is it sinful to desire Holy abilities? Like the abilities that Jesus had: healing, bilocation, etc.

I’m guilty of sometimes wishing I can do these things.
Last night I was reading 1 Corinthians and thought of you. On chapter 14 Saint Paul writes:

1 Corinthians 14

14 Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.

I remember after reading the story of Saint Anthony of Padua wishing that I could communicate with the animals as he was able. 🙂

I’m no theologian, but I would say that it all depends on the reason why we wish to have these abilities/gifts/blessings. Is the desire used as an excuse to not do the things we should be doing with the capacity that we have now? Then, that would not be good. But, if we are inspired by holy people to strive for holiness than this would be good.

yes it is a sin and a mortal one. Scriptures speaks adamantly against all kinds of witchcraft, fortune telling and communing with the deceased. It invites a great evil on you. It’s easier to fall under demonic attacks if not possession by dabbling in the occult and dark arts (which psychics fall under)
What if someone were born with the ability, hypothetically speaking?

Ultimate pure evil does exist, in the form of diabolical forces. Like you I, I thought the same and did not realize fully until I experienced this first hand. I have been thumped, had my hair pulled, pushed almost down the stairs. Smelt an awful smell in different environmental settings. Experienced disembodied voices. Seen dense black shadows, orbs in my central vision. Much of this has been experience by others in the house. Majority of people who have assisted or tried to help experienced unseen physical assaults. Just a truly awful experience. It does exist.

I am grateful that you have not experienced such. 😉

What about police forces who ask people who are psychic to help them solve crimes, or find a murdered person’s body? Many times they seek out these people for help. Maybe this is different from a psychic?

What about people who have dreams and get messages from them, like Joseph and others in both the OT and NT?
