Every Sunday, I try my best to wear a two-piece double breasted suit with a dress shirt and tie, suspenders, pair of socks and a pair of spit-shined dress shoes. Even so, I am still convinced that this is too immodest for me to wear.

Is this really modest clothing for males? Please tell me, because I am having doubts.

😨😨😨

Is this a troll or a scrupolous intention for this post? After the last threads I´m a bit…careful.

I’m very scrupulous right now. I also haven’t slept in the past 36 hours.

Then sleep now. If you can´t, this is a reason to call a doctor right now.
That less sleep may cause mental disorders or make them worse. I am sure you are the last, with this overthinking, who comes to mass in immodest clothing. Don´t worry. God sees your good intention.

Too late, I have to go to class now. I’ll just have to keep going.

OK, this is number 2 of bizarre threads.
What are you up to?

there is nothing at all immodest about that, in fact if I saw someone your age (I assume you’re a teenager or a college student) wearing a suit to mass instead of skinny jeans and a T-shirt, or shorts and a T-shirt, I would probably cry tears of joy.

Where did you get the idea it was immodest to wear a suit?

Again, go to bed and get some sleep. If you are scrupulous, get help, and stay off this site, it isn’t going to help you, in fact, it may be harming you.

I’m having trouble imagining an outfit that would be less “immodest” than what was described.

A lot of folks wear that to the Church I go to. At least for Christmas and Easter. And many Sundays in between.

I presume the OP means he feels his is calling attention to himself by dressing too fancy. Maybe a better word would be “vain” rather than “immodest” which implies seeking sexual attention. When you dress this way, are you doing so because you want to be seen a certain way by others? I think that when it comes down to it, it’s not the actual article of clothing that matters, but the attitude the person has about wearing it. If you dress that way merely to express yourself and show that you feel Mass is an important occasion, they you’re fine. If you dress that way because you think it will make other people think you are cooler, richer, or holier, then you may want to tone it down. It’s more about your internal disposition though, than the specific clothes you wear.

God doesn’t care what you wear. He cares that you attend Mass.
I live in the Philippines. You would be dead from overheating if you wore clothes like that. I wear trousers and an open neck short sleeved shirt. Obviously normal shoes.
