I am a new convert to Catholicism from Fundamentalist Christianity, and of course one of the biggest changes has been communion.
I have heard it stated that because the body of Christ contains the blood also that drinking from the cup during communion is not necessary, so I have not been, only because I have a mild phobia about drinking after other people. Should I force myself to take the cup, if for no other reason than to obey the command that Christ gave, or is taking the body alone acceptable?
Perhaps someday I will over come my fears.
Thanks,
B
