Is what I am doing acceptable?

I am a new convert to Catholicism from Fundamentalist Christianity, and of course one of the biggest changes has been communion.
I have heard it stated that because the body of Christ contains the blood also that drinking from the cup during communion is not necessary, so I have not been, only because I have a mild phobia about drinking after other people. Should I force myself to take the cup, if for no other reason than to obey the command that Christ gave, or is taking the body alone acceptable?
Perhaps someday I will over come my fears.

Thanks,

B

Dear B,

There is no need for you to force yourself to drink from the chalice. Receiving either of the forms of the Eucharist, you receive the Body and Blood of the Lord.
