Is working on Sunday a sin?

say you have to work on sunday… can you take a day when your off and make that the sabbath?? or does it have to be sunday??

What would you do to make it a sabbath? Could you even do so really?

The point is we’re honouring the day Christ rose from the dead, which wasn’t Tuesday or Wednesday, but Sunday. If you’ve gone to Saturday Vigil or Sunday Mass as you should, but had to work then I wouldn’t worry.

I do worry about it because HE does so much for me…

I worry about the day when I go before my father… did I try hard enough… I can never be worthy I know this but I worry that there might be something I can do now that I can’t get to church like I should or even confession. This not being able to get to church is driving me crazy.

So when was the original sunday??? How does it being sunday make it the sabbath? please understand I am not trying to be argumentative but rather find a way to obey and do everything I can to please my father.

The original Sunday was Easter Sunday. That is our Sabbath because it is the day Christ rose from the dead.

Realise - if you never ate, never slept, spent the rest of your life trying to repay God for what He’s done for you, and did everything possible, you still couldn’t scratch the surface.

We’re his children, parents don’t expect young dependent children to pay back every penny spent on them, simply to acknowledge the gift, be thankful for it, use it as best as possible and show gratitude. Another secret - unite your life with Christ’s, offer it along with His. HE is the sufficient offering, which is why we go to Mass each week to unite ourselves with His sacrifice on Calvary.
