Is writing to God in a diary wrong?

This is probably a silly question, and I am almost embarrassed to be posting it, but I was wondering whether it would be okay for me to address diary entries to God. I know he listens to prayer, but can I address my thoughts to Him in written form, or is that imprudent and not treating him correctly?

There’s nothing wrong with writing to God in journal form. St. Catherine of Siena wrote down whole dialogues she had with Jesus.
