Is your Catholicism an obstacle?

I live in the deep south, so yes. But Catholicism isn’t an obstacle, as it’s not something to overcome, but something that overcomes you.

How do you figure?
rcwitness is right on that. Pilate realized that there was no case against Jesus. He was clearly trying to figure out the “case” when he talked to Jesus and either get an actual offense on him that Rome could prosecute, or else find some grounds to release him. Jesus didn’t provide either thing. Pilate next tried just scourging him and then suggesting his release, but the crowd wouldn’t accept that and called for Barabbas’ release. Finally Pilate gave up and decided to placate the mob in order to avoid a riot, though he had no decent case against Jesus and really would have preferred to skip the whole thing.

As Jesus was dying, even the thief crucified with him realized Jesus had done nothing wrong and was being unjustly executed.

Oh I agree. But the prosecution itself is how that was determined. It was legal to do that, even though Jesus was innocent and was therefore unjustly convicted. The prosecution wasn’t illegal; the conviction was.

Isnt the prosecution, the accusing side?

The prosecution did not have a valid case, but Pilate gave into the pressure, or threat.

Edit: just looked it up. You are right… or we both are, kinda

Prosecution:
The institution and conducting of legal proceedings against someone in respect of a criminal charge.

Jesus had no defense. No lawyer, or defending Himself. Just answering direct questions.

St Paul had no defense lawyer either. But he defended his rights, himself.

I’d prefer to defend myself. Cuz I dont have money for lawyers. Lol

Getting back on topic. My faith is never an obstacle. I have faced some discrimination from very ignorant folks who felt I should have chosen their religion (the LDS) to convert to, which of course was impossible given I was a Christian. Had my work place at the time told me I could not wear symbols of my faith, a crucifix, saint medal or had small items of faith in my office, I would have demanded that ALL items of any faith be removed from the facility as I could be offended by those. Since I worked in a correctional institution and by federal law all inmates have the right to express their faith in the way they see fit, this could have been a big legal problem.

I really don’t care if there is a need or not, I will never conceal my Catholic faith, I will never deny I belong to Christ’s true church. Fortunately now I have no concerns with this issue in the workplace, I work for the Church.
