i am not sure how the Catholic church is as far as paying priests, deacons, etc.
i think many of the parishes own a home near the church where some fortunate priests are able to live.
in the episcopal church, i think the salary is based on the budget of the church and how generous the congregation is. in other words, the wealthier the congregation, the more money the episcopal priest will make.
i am very wary of these televangelists who make millions of dollars.

at least you know in the Catholic church, the priest must truly be in love with their faith to do the work they do and not make much money.

I would say the vast majority don’t meet or worship in “assembly halls”. Most have a sanctuary. And yes, offerings in a non-catholic church usually go toward the same things as Catholic parishes.

So, how much does Osteen pocket? If you don’t know, then this comment is at best speculative, at worst gossip.

Imagine a church in a middle school? Christ might have when He delcared “where two or more are gathered in my name, there I shall be also”.

While appearances may be deceiving, particularly on a forum, your post here appears so judgemental, and even self-righteous. I’m sure I am wrong. 😊

That’s great, as long as the Eucharist is there and the people believe it is the Body and Blood of Christ.

Again we are talking aboutr the exceptional. Unless you are the son of a mega church pastor the chances of having a TV ministry which brings in billions of dollars of tithes and offerings ranks right up there with the boy playing basketball sure that he will become an NBA lottery pick. Its worse in fact, there are 8 new NBA lottery picks every year not 8 new mega ministries.
