Has anyone seen the this? Despite the Bible saying no one knows when the end times will occur but God, Himself, Isaac Newton was brilliant. Does anyone here think he was able to gain
information hidden in ancient Biblical texts that could give us ain idea of when the end times will happen?

NO!!

Being new to the Catholic faith, what exactly is the approved view of the End Times? Catholics don’t really delve into End Times Theology as much as Protestants (or in my case, Mormons)… 🤷

Any help??

according to the article I read (this link does not work for me) Newton did this “calculation” specifically to combat those in his own day who claimed to know the day and the hour, and he said he estimated it would not come before 2060, and most probably much later. I don’t for a moment believe there is a hidden mathematical code in the bible, but if there was, he would be just the guy to find it. The article does not say, by the way, that he deciphered hidden information, merely that he studied the scripture intensively.

The Church has taught, and still teaches the amillenial view of the Apocalypse. The best book available today expalining it is The Apocalypse of St. John, The Catholic Apologetics Study Bible, Volume II.

As Benedict XVI said of the Apocalypse in a recent Audience:

His [St. John- Mark]* purpose is constituted once and for all by the revelation, starting with the death and Resurrection of Christ, of the meaning of human history.*

In this view, Satan was bound at the cross, and no longer has direct access to man or God ( he can no longer stand between man and God). The beast (with the 7 heads, as well as its protege the small beast looking like a lamb) has been in operation since the cross trying to stop the spreading of the gospel. This is the Millenium (i.e., we are right smack dab in the middlee of it, if not towards the end of it). We are protected with a seal on our forehead (baptism minimally), but can still be deceived by the beast if not careful. We can coexist with the world at this time, as the beast needs to put in a reasonable system to achieve its goals. The beast exploits all human weaknesses.

Just before the second coming, Satan will be loosed for his “little time” (symbolically 3.5 years). At that time he will organize the forces arrayed by the beast for a final attack on Christianity. It will be brutal, even those sealed will have a difficualt time escaping the horror.

Then it will end, almost instantly with the final casting of Satan into the sea of fire, and the starting of the New Heaven and New Earth.

All the actions during the Millenium being carried out by the Lamb of God, opening and interperting the 7 scrolls (He is the only one worthy).
