I’ve been looking at the controversy surrounding Isaiah 53 between Jews and Christians. I was wondering, how can this passage be talking about Israel? In verse eight, Isaiah writes “For the transgressions of My people (Israel) He (Israel?) was stricken.” Isn’t Israel usually depicted as a woman in prophecy?

If you want to ask Jews a question, it’s not a good idea to ask on Friday/Saturday.

These passages have been dealt with many times here, I suggest that you use the search facility.
