Hiya Frank,

Maybe you should make an Islam 101 for Muslims thread, since I doubt there are any Muslims who believe what you’re saying about Islam. 😉

I mean, the Qur’an tells them that they believe in the same God as Christians and Jews, and to say so. 3:64.

But anyway… if the Muslims don’t believe what you say Islam is, then why should the Catholics trust you?

Hi CatholicMelody,

Always remember action speak louder the words.

Allah, whom Muslims worship is not the same god that Christian’s, worship. The views of the two religion can’t be reconciled, for it they were the same GOD. GOD would have a Dr Jeckel and Mr. Hyde personality if we were to believe that it was the same GOD.

I don’t any peace between the two religions now or in the future the world views are too different and to far apart.

The GOD of the Christians is a GOD that loves all mankind and not just the few. HE gives mankind free will to choice to choosing good or evil. That same choice goes for choosing the true GOD.

I feel that Muslims will have to show and prove that they are peaceful. The only thing that stand in the way is the Oru’an and how it is interpreted.
You are ignoring some of the differences between Jesus of the New Testament and God of the Old Testament. At least how the Bible perceives Him between the Old and the New Testaments.

Hi Sister Amy and MH84,

islam.tc/quran/
Qur’an English Translation
  1. The Table Spread (Al-Máída)
005.051 O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.
Is this the GOD of the Christians or another god??? Did the GOD of the Christians tell Mohammad to write this in the Qur’an?? Strange that our GOD would say this hmmmmmmmmm.

Is it our GOD that teaches Islam that we are pigs and Monkeys??

I look in the Bible and I don’t see passages looking say stuff like this to pagans.

I feel to understand Islam, one needs to watch what they do not what they say. I so sick of hearing about the religion of peace; by the PC Liberals who claim we don’t understand them and maybe it is they have no work.

I felt that the Dr Jeckel and Mr. Hyde personality was the best way to show what Islam is like. It bests described the religions you have the good ones that go about their lives and live with out hurting anyone but you have the others that will kill anyone with out personal feels of anything wrong doing.

Watch what is stated on Islamic TV stations in the Middle-east. It is not one that could be views as hostel to peaceful loving people.

My family were poor and never did things like this, they live as good Christians should.

Sister Amy your quote what “if the Muslims don’t believe what you say Islam is, then why should the Catholics trust you?” I not trying to gain the trust of the Muslims I just trying to worn other Christians and Jews that what is face us is a great danger to our lives and and our way of life.

If you want to talk about trust of others I would ask the Serbians who they trust I sure it is not the U.S.

I watch show on the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade attacked after Kosovo Independence and the U.S stated that they would agree on Kosovo Independence. They say no good deed is left undone.

But we will leave that for other chat.

bye

Frank J

Frank, I’m afraid you missed my point entirely.

I wasn’t suggesting you needed to earn the trust of the Muslims… perhaps I was too subtle.

The point is that Muslims don’t believe in the Islam about which you are ranting. Therefore, you aren’t ranting about Islam really, but some makebelieve construct masquerading as Islam in your mind and in a few dark paranoid corners of the internet.

My point is that it’s not the truth. Muslims believe in a Loving, (al-Wadud) Compassionate (Ar-Rahman) Merciful (Ar-Raheem) Generous (Al-Kareem) Gentle (Al-Lateef) Kind (Al-Ra’uf) Forgiving (Al-Ghaffaar) God.

Is it our GOD that teaches Islam that we are pigs and Monkeys??

I look in the Bible and I don’t see passages looking say stuff like this to pagans.
Matthew 15:25-26 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.

Those that believe Islam and Christianity worship the same God have not done their research.

They don’t, Christian is Trinity God, Islam is the one God of Israel.
Christians believe in a triune God. The god of Islam was worshipped before Mohammed this god was worshipped using the Kabaa and all its adherents faced Mecca when they prayed to this polyiestic god.

The God of Islam was worshipped before Muhammad, this is true. But subhaanallah, He was not a polytheistic God.

He was the God of Abraham.

The Kaaba was built by Adam, destroyed in the flood of Noah, and then rebuilt by Abraham and his son.

The Arabs took to polytheism and in a generation before Muhammad they put idols in the Kaaba, the different idols the people were worshiping, aside from Allah.

But glorified Allah is above all that. The idols were destroyed and now over a billion people on the planet worship ONE GOD alone without any partners.

Hi

One can think what ever one wants to believe, but please explain passagers from the Qur’an???

The Literal translation of the word Islam in Arabic is “submission.” The word Istislam means “to surrender after a fight” The Qur’an says those who do not submit (yastaslimoun) to Islam should be killed. That means death to Christians and death to Jews, and to all other non-Muslims.

One can think what ever one wants but please explain passages in Qur’an Please for me. If one believes the Qur’an as the word of their god one has to follow word for word. Do you like what they believe her below You will see it as it is written in the Qur’an.
  1. Spoils of War (Al-Anfál)
008.061 And if they incline to peace, incline thou also to it, and trust in Allah. Lo! He, even He, is the Hearer, the Knower.
  2. Repentance (Al-Tauba)
009.005 Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
009.029 Fight against such of those who have been given the Scripture as believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, and forbid not that which Allah hath forbidden by His messenger, and follow not the Religion of Truth, until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low.
  1. The Table Spread (Al-Máída)
    005.033 The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter theirs will be an awful doom;
005.051 O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.

I could show you more if you like??? They are many good one like the ones you see above.
I read and see what they believe I have a copy of a Qur’an on my bookshelf and on the computer.

Try reading a good book called “BECAUSE THEY HATE” written by Brigitte Gabriel.

If you don’t believe her, then you can never understand what Christians are going though in the middle-east of she is from that part of the world.

Don’t for get that there is a say ion the middle-east that goes this way. “ First comes Saturday and then comes Sunday” If you are not sure what that means it translate this way, “First we will kill the Jews then we will kill the Christians.
This is the religion of peace.
Look to see what you will say now??

In the Quran, Jesus did miracles, Muhammed did not. Jesus was sinless, but Muhammed sinned and needed forgiveness.
Jesus was called “the Messiah” and was even born of a virgin, yet Muhammed is supposed to be the greatest of the prophets!!
All of the prophets in Islam were given miracles to prove to the people that they were Prophets, including Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them all)

Your statement that Muhammad sinned is incorrect. ** “After receiving the message he is infallible. That is, he would not commit any sin. He might make some minor mistakes which are usually corrected by revelation.”**(source)

*“Say (O Muslims): we believe in Allah and that which is revealed to us and that which was revealed to Abraham and Ishmael, and Isaac and Jacob, and their children, and that which Moses and Jesus received and that the prophets received from their Lord. **We make no distinction between any of them **and unto Him we have surrendered.”
(Quran 2:136) *

Muhammad is not the “greatest” of them All, but he is the Last. He is the seal of the prophets and he was sent as the mercy of mankind and given the miracle of the Quran.

*"The last prophet of God, Muhammad, was born in Arabia in the sixth century C.E. Up to the age of forty, people of Makkah knew him only as a man of excellent character and cultured manners and called him AL-AMEEN (the trustworthy). He also did not know that he was soon to made a prophet and receiver of revelation from God. He called the idolaters of Makkah to worship the only one God and accept him as His prophet. The revelation that he received was preserved in his life-time in the memory of his companions and was also recorded in pieces of palm leaves, leather etc…

Thus the Quran that is found today is the same that was revealed to him; not a syllable of it has been altered as God Himself has guaranteed its preservation. This Quran claims to be the book of guidance for the whole humanity for all times, and mentions Muhammad as the last Prophet of God. "*(source)

Christians believe in a triune God. The god of Islam was worshipped before Mohammed this god was worshipped using the Kabaa and all its adherents faced Mecca when they prayed to this polyiestic god.
The Christian Trinity is fully God plus fully man, not fully one God which is what monotheism is.

Kaaba is a cube like New Jerusalem of Revelation, with Zamzam like the River of Life, and is the dwelling of God and the Black Cornerstone, like New Jerusalem is the dwelling of God and Jesus as the rejected cornerstone.

So the Prayer Qibla is not literally to face Mecca when you pray, but to turn your heart to God and Jesus.

Quran 2:177 It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces to the East and the West; but righteous is he who believeth in Allah and the Last Day and the angels and the Scripture and the prophets; and giveth wealth, for love of Him, to kinsfolk and to orphans and the needy and the wayfarer and to those who ask, and to set slaves free; and observeth proper worship and payeth the poor-due. And those who keep their treaty when they make one, and the patient in tribulation and adversity and time of stress. Such are they who are sincere. Such are the Allah-fearing.

Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Joel 2:28-29 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

Genesis 21:19 And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.

I haven't read all the postings on this thread as yet, and I hope I don't repeat what others have said already.

 (1) I am not a Muslim, and there is much in Islam with which I disagree.

  (2) There is, however, a deliberate attempt to demonize Islam. It's easy to demonize any religion if one picks and chooses what to emphasize. Remember how Jehovah told Joshua to kill every man, woman and child in Jericho and Ai? That 'holy order' to commit genocide is in the Christian Bible. Or how about King Saul? Recall how Jehovah ordered him to slaughter every single Amalekite? There is much more brutality (ordered by the Merciful Almighty) in the Old Testament.

  (3) Islam in many ways resembles Judaism more than Christianity. Stoning an adulterous woman? Clearly commanded in Leviticus and Deuteronomy. Dietary laws are almost the same. Treatment of women in Orthodox Judaism similar in many ways to Islam - segregation, inferior position, even dress patterns, etc.
Actually foru Muslim countries have been led by women CEOs - presidents, etc. - Indonesia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Turkey. But not yet the USA.

   (4) Islam reveres Jesus as a prophet. There is more about Mary, viewed as a virgin, in the Quran than in our Bible. He is assigned a key role in the 'end times', leading the forces of righteousness at the final battle.

   (5) Christians and Jews who try to poison our minds against Islam are playing into the hands of Osma bin Laden and his gang of thugs. Remember the riots when Falwell attacked Islam? They quote our wildest statements just like we quote theirs.

   (6) Christians, Jews and Muslims all trace their religions to Abraham. They should see one another as spiritual brothers and sisters - at least cousins - and not be pushed by bigots to hate one another. WWJD? Don't tell me that Jesus would want us to kill Muslims, bomb Iran, etc. I believe he said something about loving our enemies. Many Christians hate to be reminded of that, but that's what our Lord said!

Judiasm has an unbroken history from Adam untill present day. We have revelation of who their God is and when and how aHe revealed Himself to the Jews. Christianity takes its history From Adam to Jesus from Jesus and then starts their unique history. This history is well documented.
Islam on the other hand has a broken history from the time of Abraham to Mohammed.
There is much dispute wheather the Ismaelites settled in Arabai certainlyt there is great evidence they did not. NMohammed claims Divine revelation to his recitation yet heis experience leaves much doubt. He3 counterdicts all the we know up until his day. Certainly if you wanted something to be preserved for posterity you would write it down. Word of mouth is probably the most untrustworthy way to transmit information.
Muslims say they worship the same God as Abraham yet we have nothing outside their word to verify this. We do have conflicting evidence that a polytheist people were militarily conquered by Muslems and forced to convert yet they maintained many of the same practices that they had belfore Mohammed.
I assert without a doubt that Islam is a false religion.

If Christian history is unbroken and complete, what did Jesus do between the ages of 12 and 30?

I don’t think so.

Genesis 25:17-18 And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people. And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren.

Havilah is usually associated with northwest Yemen (see the Table of Nations), but in the work associated with the Garden of Eden by Juris Zarins, the Hijaz mountains south of Medina (circa 400 miles north of Yemen) appear to potentially meet the description of Havila. Medina is where Muhammad and his followers fled after attacks against them in Mecca, now known as the Hijrah. -wiki

Christianity did not start as a movement/religion untill Jesus began His ministry at the age of 30.

We know that Hagar and Ismael went to the wilderness of Paran which in no way is Arabia
keyway.ca/htm2002/20020429.htm

The chief god of the polytheist Arabs is who Muslims worship today.

You said “Christianity takes its history From Adam to Jesus from Jesus and then starts their unique history” So if you take this unbroken history from Adam to Jesus, it’s not really unbroken if it breaks with silence from 12-30, is it.
We know that Hagar and Ismael went to the wilderness of Paran which in no way is Arabia

Sure it is.

Deuteronomy 1:1 These be the words which Moses spake unto all Israel on this side Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain over against the Red sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.

Where is the plain against the Red Sea?

http://coastalscience.noaa.gov/images/Saudi_Arabia_map.png

Tophel or Tofel (תפל) was an Edomite town mentioned in the Hebrew Bible: “These are the words Moses spoke to all Israel in the desert east of the Jordan — that is, in the Arabah — opposite Suph, between Paran and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth and Dizahab.” (Deuteronomy 1:1). It is identified as Tafilah in Jordan north to Petra. -wiki

They worship the God of the Bible.

Quran 3:3 He hath revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the Scripture with truth, confirming that which was (revealed) before it, even as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel.

Jesus as Messiah fulfiills the Tanak. We know His words we have recorded eyewitness testimony of what He said.
Our history is unbroken from Adam.
If Jesus said or did anything significant between 12-30 we would also have that. We know His birth, His early years, and the years of His ministry. We know of His death and resurrction and of the early Christians who lived after he accended into heaven.
That is unbroken

You my friend did not look at my map which is accurate

The quaran counterdicts the bible so it has shown itself to be false.
