They do NOT believe that Jesus is the Christ the son of the living God.
Jesus is NOT just a prophet.
Crucified and raised for our sins He is the one mediator between God and man, they don’t get this.
They do not understand that ONE day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Christ is LORD of all to the glory of the Father.
They dishonor Him because they do not ascribe the glory to Him.

One way one truth one life.Jesus
He who has the Son has the Father.
He who believes in the Son has eternal life.

How shall the muslims hear unless we preach?

Jesus endured the dishonor of the Father not because He was dishonorable but because we are dishonorable, the only hope for dishonorable sinful people is that a perfect risen living substitutionary Christ could bear our wickedness and sinfulness, and that by faith in HIM He will justify us.

So, go preach the Gospel to them, and good luck.

Of course, since you posted this on a Catholic forum I assume you want a Catholic response?

That response is–no one can be culpable of sin if they do not know they are indeed sinning. It doesn’t mean no sin has been committed it merely means the one committing it cannot be held responsible.

Have you read C. S. Lewis’ “The Last Battle”? Did you read the part about the young soldier who had worshiped a false god all his life and how Aslan dealt with him? If not, you may want to do so. It’s solidly Catholic in understanding (although CSL was Anglican he had a pretty good grasp of such Catholic concepts) as well as spiritually moving.

In regards to the title of this thread:

Whose God? yours or mine, they are not the same you know.
We are to discern and defend His Holy name.

Really? that is the Catholic view? what of scripture in Romans where it states that His law is written on our hearts and that all creation declares the beauty of the LORD these things that leave us** without excuse**?

You may be right there. Catholics don’t worship a God who only meets our expectations.
I was speaking to an LDS, not a catholic.
You sound just like a Muslim! Maybe you missed your true religious calling! 😉
Hardly. We are to preach in season and out. Calling something that is an offense to the LORD what it is, is not outside our calling, we see it often in scripture.

By their fruits you shall know them.

Pray for conversions.

And remember, it takes a lot of bravery for Muslims to convert for the price of converting FROM their faith calls for death in Sharia law. I think a teen girl was recently in the news for running away from her family here this country(!) when she converted because she feared they’d kill her for her conversion.

I heard about that, it’s a tragic story.
She is being forced back i’ve heard.

I know that I personally offend the Lord every day with my sin, for which I am absolutely culpable as I cannot be said to be sinning in ignorance, as many Muslims can be said to be doing. In light of that, it is better to focus on the internal inconsistency of Islam and the lack of true spirituality and depth in the Islamic faith than to say it is an offense to God and simply continue down that path. Obviously, the majority of Muslims would not knowingly do anything to offend God, though they may be surprisingly receptive to learning about traditions and perspectives outside their own, if you approach them in an honest manner. I have received many negative and disparaging messages here from Muslims offended by my sometimes strident rejection of Islam, but they are nothing but straw compared to the few positive messages I have received from Muslims here (to say nothing of in my everyday life, away from this place). Reach out to people in love without compromise and they may reach out to you. This is far less likely to happen if you instead castigate them for doing what they’ve always done, in the way that they’re told is the right way to do it.

As far as I know, I have never converted a Muslim to Christianity. But, I have been told by Muslims (on CAF and in my day-to-day life) that the way that I conduct myself speaks more favorably of Christianity than more direct preaching does, so I can vouch for a sort of “speak softly, carry a big set of ears” approach.

I got that. What I mean is–are you sure you haven’t invented a God of your own making? It sounds like it to me. Your God is rather limited in mercy and grace, it seems to me.

No, that’s not what I meant at all. I’ll have to explain. You sound just like a Muslim. What you wrote, that I responded to, is their battle cry. It just seemed ironic that you would state the same thing and then state you are any different from them.

God can take care of himself. We can make reparations for the offenses committed against him, usually more of our own making than that of others. But, Muslims worshiping God and living their faith isn’t offensive to God. Their faith lives do not consist mainly of denying the beliefs of others–they simply don’t believe as we do because they were taught differently from us. What is offensive to God is people judging the hearts of others. You may recall the parable of the Publican and the Pharisee?

How’s that? His word is very clear on the topics listed in the OP.

They are NOT worshiping God, allah is a product of Satan, how could it NOT be offensive?

To clarify…allah is another name for Satan because “the Allah of Islam” is not the true and living God.

Hi, there.

It may be important to note that being charitable can include respect for another’s chosen faith, despite the contradictions and fallacies implicit in the other’s faith based on your faith teaching.

That said, most religions are believed to have some truths (CCC 847). The Mormons, for example, believe in Jesus Christ and God. However, their interpretation and application of said belief is unique and therefore foreign to us.

Yet the Mormons bring light to the ecumenical table of God through their piety and their love of family. Any genealogist alive today can tell you that the LDS Church aids everyone of all faiths in family history, and that is a wonderful thing.

That said, unlike any other Christian faith I know of, a typical Muslim will pray by requirement at least six times per day, every day. They *do *pray to the God of Abraham and of David. Their holy book mentions Mary the Mother of God far more than our own Bible. But, as with the Mormons, yes, I do believe their interpretation of God’s message as foreign.

While I would never encourage anyone to become a follower of Islam, I must respect where a person is, at the very least, in order to encourage them to follow the fuller path.

I ask that you research more into the culture of Muslims, not to understand their faith, but to understand the people behind the faith.

Correction - they pray 5 times a day.

near dawn (fajr),
after the sun’s noon (dhuhr),
in the afternoon (asr),
just after sunset (maghrib)
and around nightfall (isha’a)

And so what Mother Mary is mentioned in their koran more than the Bible?

She is not The Blessed Mother Mary to muslims or their koran, but just a woman who gave birth to a prophet of islam.

And if you read the koran about Mother Mary, it is not the same person which is written in our Bible.

Hi, there.

I believe they call that kind of charity, loving someone right into eternal damnation.

Mormons do not believe in the Jesus of the bible or God the father of the bible. Mormonism teaches that God the Father has a body of flesh and bones and that Jesus is a creation. It teaches that he was begotten in heaven as one of God’s spirit children.

Yep genealogies. That’s kingdom work.

NO they pray to a God of Abraham and Ishmael…That is NOT the God of the bible…The triune God. You guys do them eternal damage by being accepting of a false God of a false religion.

Respect right into eternal damnation?

Yes, have and continue to do so.

How’s that? His word is very clear on the topics listed in the OP.
No, what’s clear is you are interpreting God’s Word to make it say what you want to believe. There’s a HUGE difference between one and the other.
They are NOT worshiping God, allah is a product of Satan, how could it NOT be offensive?
Not according to them. To them Allah means God. They have no idols and no idea about God other than he is the Supreme Being, not some ancient Canaanite god no one would ever know existed except for a few archaeologists and people who dredge it up to lay it at the feet of the Muslims.

Those who believe in Christ know who he is and ought to desire to share him with others, I certainly agree with you there, but I cannot agree that people are damned merely for their ignorance. The Church Christ founded doesn’t believe it, that’s for sure–from the Catechism:
Possible salvation of non-Christians: #s 846-848.
“Outside the Church there is no salvation”
846 How are we to understand this affirmation, often repeated by the Church Fathers?335 Re-formulated positively, it means that all salvation comes from Christ the Head through the Church which is his Body:
Basing itself on Scripture and Tradition, the Council teaches that the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation: the one Christ is the mediator and the way of salvation; he is present to us in his body which is the Church. He himself explicitly asserted the necessity of faith and Baptism, and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through Baptism as through a door. Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it.336
847 This affirmation is not aimed at those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and his Church:
Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience - those too may achieve eternal salvation.337
848 "Although in ways known to himself God can lead those who, through no fault of their own, are ignorant of the Gospel, to that faith without which it is impossible to please him, the Church still has the obligation and also the sacred right to evangelize all men."338
Note, the Church teaches non-Christians MAY be saved, but still their salvation is only possible because of the redemptive work of Christ. This is easily supported in Scripture. You simply haven’t looked into it from this perspective.

Not according to them. To them Allah means God.
Yes the god of Islam, aka Satan.
All false religions have a god or gods, and to call some entity of your own manufacturing or some demon or Satan himself “god” doesn’t make it so.

Be clear in knowing that confounding allah with God Almighty is doing them no justice.

12When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Code:
19Then they asked him, "Where is your father?"

** "You do not know me or my Father," Jesus replied. "If you knew me, you would know my Father also." **

Note, the Church teaches non-Christians MAY be saved, but still their salvation is only possible because of the redemptive work of Christ. This is easily supported in Scripture. You simply haven’t looked into it from this perspective.
MAY…

So what then just let them be that this MAY be to their demise?
