A Serb shared that with me…who lived in those times, an older woman.

You are a young man?..posing as a woman?
No im a woman, what makes you think im a young man?

And what the woman said to you is not true, thats why i laughed

Oh, oK.

So then, Bosnian Muslim, then you are an old woman like me??

Enjoy not waking up to joint pain and fuzzy thinking.

Now going back to Bosnia, this lady is older. So she is more aware what happened then in Bosnia. What do you recall during time of Tito? I was in my 20’s when he was alive.

I wasnt even born, but I know what people talk about

Oficially no one from the communist party was allowed to go to church, mosque, synagogue, but people were doing it,even famous members of communist party used to visit mosque during big holidays(in secret). All people were same, but generally speaking the Serbian serbs and slovenians were the least religious

Normal people were free to go to mosque as much as today

I see. It is good to know people were practicing their faith there.

Perhaps that lady was witnessing what she saw in her locale. She was speaking forcefully.

okey , what can you say about the idols and images which be made to them by churchs and offcourse the idols which be made to mary

offcourse you read those verses before

Exodus 20:4
“You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.”

Leviticus 26:1
" 'Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the LORD your God.

Isaiah 41:29
See, they are all false! Their deeds amount to nothing; their images are but wind and confusion.
They have the prooves in their own book, but still they dont want to see
I think you confuse icon and idol. An icon is merely a reminder of those who were once living on earth who we know are now in Heaven. Those bowing or praying to those icons are praying for the intercession of that person the icon represents, more of a petition to God himself through that person who is known to be in Heaven. Catholics praying to Mary are praying for Mary to intercede or petition for them to God. Who better to know Jesus than His mother.
Justin answered this question very well. Consider the icons of Mary and the Saints as family pictures. They are not idols, but people just like you and I. The difference is that they walk with God in Heaven where we are striving to be.

There is nothing offensive in that picture of Muhammed. Very nice.

😃 OK, JC ~ you know what’s coming next don’t you… 🙂

Lets see, it goes something like this…

That is Shia who do that and Shia is only 10% of islam and they are heretics… etc… etc… blah… blah…

There is plenty of ancient Persian islamic art from centuries ago of mohamad. It wasn’t a big deal back then.

It only became a big deal nowadays…

Doesn’t Famdigy have this picture on his signature… ??? I think he does…

BTW - I liked the “bull in a china shop”… I can just see that!!! 😃

JC,

Do you know the origin of the pic you posted?

Was it one from the ancient Persian Islamic era… do you know the year it was painted…??

wow! just a few alterations and she could be…very nice painting.

It happens to be so that i speak swedish(norwegian ,thats a picture of a normal muslim lady praying…its not a saint or anything like that 🙂

the first picture is of Ali not Mohammad,.they are shia, and even among them its not so usual to paint our prophet pbuh

Islamic art,the face of our prophet and his close sahaba is not shown

It is because not all things are predestinated…things like war, hate are the will of humans. If everything was predestinated then there would not be an argument for hell-why should anyone go to hell if God descided before that he will be a massmurder etc, that means he never ever had a chance?..and God knows that 🙂 and we muslims believe that a human beeing is of a good nature,we are good(not evil like in christianity) so to do evil things is to go against your own nature
If you think Christianity teaches that humans are inherently evil, you are mistaken. On the contrary, we are God’s greatest act of creation. And even if we aren’t (and we are) EVERYTHING God made is good.

What we DON’T teach is that humans are perfect.

yes i read the answers of justin , i appreciate that form her by the way

but actually i waited your answer becasue her answers didn’t satisfied me

but as long as you add nothing to her answer , then i have further questions

firstly what is the difference between idol and image and sacred stone in this verse

Leviticus 26:1
" 'Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the LORD your God.

secondly , what is the difference between icon and idol

and thank you for taking the time to answer my questions

peace
