Islam and Slavery Today

I say this as muslim and as a father of a young girl. Slavery especially for sexual needs is wrong, immoral and wrong. When I was in Egypt I felt uncomfortable watching a belly dancer going around trying to get western tourists to get up and dance with her. I had to leave after 5minutes. It was just a bit of harmless fun but watching a scantily dressed girl dance really close with old men just for a tip made me sick. Especially a couple of pervs who kept feeling her up.
Sex slavery exists now. Its called prostitutiuon and its everywhere. Just cos one crazy woman brought it up please don’t think all muslims think the same
 
I’m not 100% convinced the woman is serious. However there are many un-Christian practices in these Muslim countries that are also illegal even by their own laws. Maybe she was proposing legalization as a method of change. For comparison, I sometimes see the value in legalizing drugs in our country so that all would shift their focus on to prevention and healing the addicted rather than the failed efforts to erradicate the trade.

Also, as much as I despise many muslim beliefs and practices, I am reminded to look into mirror. Christians firmly believed the bible supported slavery up through the civil war, with ministers in all Protestant denominations actually owning slaves.

I am so happy you feel this way.

How do you explain away what Islam, the Quran and Sharia condone? Are you saying Mohammad and allah are wrong on this matter?
