Islam before Muhammad?

I know, it’s gotta be tough to try to reconcile abrogation in your own religion after condemning for so long in Islam.

Can Christians eat pork and camel now?

The answer is yes.

Therefore the prohibition of pork and camel was apparently, for Christians, abrogated. Not because it says so in the OT and NT, but because that is Christian teaching.

Just like I said before, the law of Christianity is not the same as the law of Judaism. Just like the law of Islam is not the same as the law of Christianity, or the law of Judaism. You can easily accept this since it’s a part of the Christian religion already. Jewish law for the Jews, right? Muslim law for the Muslims!

Why is there a law for Jews and a different law for the non-Jews even in Judaism? I don’t know for sure.
The Jews themselves say that non-Jews only have seven commandments to follow according to the Covenant God made with Noah, while the Jews received not only the Ten Commandments, but what amounted in all to 613 commandments, 248 do’s and 365 don’ts…
So many commandments and added prescriptions in order that those commandments were sure to be all respected and obeyed have made it rather heavy for the common man, were he a Jew.
Now many of those commandments have to do with the sacrifices of animals. In Christianity we believe that Jesus’ self-sacrifice as the Lamb of God has accomplished what the animal sacrifices could not accomplish once and for all, hence we don’t offer sacrifices of animals… because we don’t have to!

Who is a child of God but he who does what God asks him (her) to do?

To be baptized, in Christianity, just like the circumcision in Judaism, is a sign that the one baptized or circumcised has decided to live according to God’s Commandments, to become someone who does what God asks him (her) to do.

If you were baptized or circumcised as part of a covenant with God but then turned away from God’s ways and paths (what He had asked you to do) how can you be called His child? A child will be like his father… How then, if you turn away from Him for good, will you accept to spend your eternity with God, in God?
which BTW is what heaven and happiness will mean in the afterlife… So God is right: He is not the One who condemns the people, their own unrepented actions and their indisposition toward Him are the things that will condemn them. There!

the first two questions are good ones. Yes, you are always your father’s son. Your father may disown you depending on what you do. However, you can always come back.

The last point is a more nuanced one. Jesus said that those who do the will of the Father are his brothers and sisters. This would mean that to remain a child of God, you must do his will. However, you can also see where all who are baptised are children of God, no matter what. I look at it more like those who strive for holiness are the non-wayward children, and the others are the ones who have run away from home. They may have issues with Daddy, but they can always make amends.

I could ask a similar question to you:

Would Allah, who is repeteadly called the Forgiving and Merciful One in the Koran and Basmala, send his servants to Hell? Would the Forgiving and Merciful One brag about creating many humans for his Hell? Would the Forgiving and Merciful One praise himself for fulfilling his promise to fill up Hell with humans???

I guess you did not read my post entirely. I was speaking of the father’s son in the Biblical sense, where it’s similarly said about the teacher and the disciple. “It suffices that the disciple be like his teacher.”

Also, remember (I mean from your Christian days) the passage where someone tells Jesus that his mother and his “brothers” (probably cousins) are waiting for him outside? And Jesus, who revealed himself as God the Son, answers, showing those who were listening to Him: “Here are my mother and my brothers! For anyone who listens to my Word and observes it (put it into practice) is ot me a brother, a sister, and a mother.” Therefore, if we are brothers and sisters of the Son of God in listening to the Word of God and in practicing His commandments, that means that’s the way to truly be the sons and the daughter of God the Father in Jesus, the Son of God.
To be creatures of God and to be His son are two truly distinct things!

Well, if someone decides he doesn’t want any part of Daddy’s heritage and maintain this decision forever, will that be Daddy’s fault? It won’t be Daddy’s decision to have him disowned. It would be the son who gets away from it forever.
