Is there and ex-muslims here?
I am wondering if any ex muslims have ; muslim spouses?

My husband is not a practicing muslim; I suspect the childhood whippings for not reading the quran right put a early end to his religious life. Poor thing has some bad scares on his back ; I cant imagine anyone doing that to a child.

My father in law wants us to come for a visit. He does not know about me going back to the church. DH says its none of his business, and I agree. Do you think actions I have will tip him off? Should I be worried? Should I go?

your father in law is the one who used to hit his son for not reading the Quran? i’d be careful with such a person. Furthermore, your religion is none of his business so in case you had to see him, do not tell him anything. No one knows how he will react.

If your father-in-law gave the beatings or was aware of them (how could he not?) then his actions were criminal.

I’d keep him at a good distance.

Kim my sympathy to you and your dh.

My FIL beat my husband when my husband was little, with a strap left welt marks.

He was a Methodist, from the south and they had a whipping tree they called it. This has left emotional scars forever.

Believe me the father will not change, so just don’t expect any changes.

I don’t know the reason; most of my posts have no star.
I wouldn’t worry about it, KimL. Most of the posts here have no star. People hardly use the vote system or they hardly see it. So, even if your post has one star, people pay more attention to it - you have our support and that is very important.
