I have a question to, well I guess anyone in the RCC, is their any plans for some sort of “re-evangelization” of England? What I mean is, well I think we have all seen the statistics, of the rise of Islam and decline of Christianity in England. If you haven’t seen them, follow these links: believersweb.org/view.cfm?ID=560 or learnthebible.org/islam-in-england.html (both of them are Christian websites)

I am wondering, does the RCC have any programs coming where they are gonna send a, I guess, group of priests or such, to help convert the English, back to the RCC? I know, the Church of England, was their main Christian group for a while (they were, right?). But now, that it is going from Anglican to Islam, what does the RCC plan to do? If you can’t answer this, thats ok, I probably wouldn’t be able to either, but if you have any links to any statements made by any bishops/cardinals/the pope, please don’t mind givin them too me.

~Edit~ If your also wanting some Islam Statistics, here is a video thats been used in others: youtube.com/watch?v=6-3X5hIFXYU

The Catholic Church is now the Christian religion with the highest level of weekly observance in the UK.

um ok? I guess that is related to this topic, but I am saying, Christianity is declining, as a whole, to Islam. Not one Christian denomination to another, but thanks for the info. I always thought the Anglicans were the #1 there.

One Sunday Queen Victoria ordered census takers to stand outside every church and chapel in the UK, regardless of its denomination, to see how many attended on Sunday.

She was shocked and grieved to find out that only 40% of the population did so that day.

My understanding is that there are actually more Roman Catholics in UK than in the Established Church, but I may be wrong.

They were, until about last year. Anglicanism is declining faster than Catholicism in the UK, and so Catholicism has overtaken it. Islam is on the rise, but is still dwarfed by Christianity.

Well, I have a blog that attempts to equip Catholics to evangelize Muslims (see my signature), but it’s not aimed at any specific are of the world. It’s brand new, but I am interested in reconverting former Christians, so I’ll definitely post on that in the future. Unfortunately, I’ve found very few specifically Catholic resources on mission to Muslims. Most of them are from the Middle Ages. 😊

Specific to Europe I would think the aim whould not be to capture the minority Muslims but to set our sights on the children of the majority which has rejected Christianity over the last century

By far the biggest group that requires attention is the unchurched.

But the OP has a very good point. An organization as sophisticated as the RC in England should be developing a mission strategy to address these things, such as the rise of Islam.
