Likewise, for Muslims: Christianity is *not your enemy. We ought not to spend ourselves in a war against one another, when a much greater evil is lurking.
We ought to ally against our common foe: the apatheistic Culture of Death; that insidious and ancient parasite which feeds on all of human civilization, weakening it at the core, resulting in inevitable collapse.
The sooner we come to this realisation, the greater suffering we can alleviate, and the better it will be for all of us. Though they are important to recognise, let’s not allow our differences to breed hatred and division, when an alliance of faith in our One True God could be such a powerful weapon against the godless.

Peace, Justice, Fraternity

“For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood; but against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the world of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places.” (Ephesians 6:12).

*****the same goes for our Jewish cousins; and for our seperated brethren: Catholicism is not your enemy!

Your thoughts were expressed by Peter Kreeft in his “Eucemical Jihad.” 👍 I concur. Our real enemy is secularism–the sidelining and destruction of religious belief, not other people of faith.

While I believe that Muslims and Christians (and anyone else) of good faith should work together to fight secularism and the culture of death, I think it is important that Jesus desires us all to be one. A plurality of competing truth claims is not an ideal situation. That is not to say that Islam is the enemy. The Devil is the Enemy, and he has wrought much confusion. The result is the fracturing of the Church into heresies and schism competing for allegiance.

I totally agree as well… One of the people who i look up to the most in all of christian history was the late Pope John Paul II. He was a very intelligient, and very great man even in the jewish and islamic world… He preached love, and coming together of the faiths… I mean John Paul II was the first pope to ever visit the wailing wall of jerusalem or the Al-Aqsa Mosque of Islam. He brought dialogue and understanding between the faiths while never allowing his beliefs to change.

But he showed us and believed that all of us have things in common and all of us worship the same god. We just have different ways of visualizing god. But if god was truly merciful all that would matter is that you had faith in him, not in a certian religion. That is what we are taught growing up in a jewish community, and i believe it. Death, and secularism, and all of the other anti-religious movements in the world are our true enemy. I really hope for a day when christians-muslims and jews can all work side by side as true friends.

Absolutely. Its possible to recognize the truth in each other’s religion while acknowledging that the other one misses the whole truth.

Atheism and amorality is our common enemy. We should not waste our energies fighting each other.

I can’t believe the title of this thread! It’s so naive and so untrue! I read this in an article somewhere and it’s so true:

Western civilization has a built-in structural fault called** Political Correctness** which aims to make stupidity, not common sense prevail!

I’ll have to read this, thanks!

I don’t want to derail the point of this thread but I’ll have to disagree with this. Truth *does *matter, but one must never teach it without Love. In this case, Muslims, Christians and Jews should, out of Love, hold fast to our common Truth in our common God against our common enemies; but we should never pretend that the differences don’t matter–that would be a lie.

Agreed–the ideal is unity; however, let’s at least accept what little unity we *do *have! Even a little unity, if utilised, is profound.

Ironically, I agree with you here. 🙂

i’d say, islam is a threat , not muslims…seems paradoxical…but some muslims ( i mean millions) will never concede until Islam rules the world…we dont have to fight them, but we have to preserve ourselves, our lands, our freedom of living our Christian faith…to put our hands in cold water and pretend islam is not a threat is just what radical muslims want, until they get the time, number and power to kick our “islam is not a threat” in our faces…it’d be too late. We have a saying : the one who is counting the flogging is not like the one who is feeling it.

Absolutely! Anti-religious sentiment is a common enemy that all religions should struggle mightily against. All faiths should see this as a common goal.

Let Peace reign!

We all should reflect on the fact that abortion has been legalized in this country - prayer has been taken out - the Ten Commandments have been thrown out the door and the media is purely secular.

Now, I’m no conservative fanatic (obviously 🙂 ), but whether I agree with the things mentioned above is beside the point. These moral values have been set aside and secularism has now reigned to where no religion is looked upon as good and right for the people.

All faiths should be aware that religion has a big target on its back. The recent uprisings only fuel the viewpoint of secularists that religion is a worthless disease that needs to be gotten rid of. And you know that this lies in Communism and at the source materialism.

Peace…

I think a good point is

Though they are important to recognise, let’s not allow our differences to breed hatred and division,
Does this include catholics and protestants? I think we are gonna need each other more and more. 🙂

Islam is a threat for humanity. Period. Looking for peace between Christianity and Islam? Never gonna happen. These muslims who talking peace are those who live as dhimis in secular country. The hatred they have toward infidels have been for 1400years. Even the Popes could do nothing significant on palestine-israel crisis for decades. Still dreaming about peaceful religion? Yeah later when Islam rules the world. Just wait…😉

You’re kidding yourself if you are a non-Muslim and you think Islam is your friend.

Christianity is a peaceful religion, but how can there peace with Islam if Islam does not want peace (unless you count living under Islam and being humiliated or being forced to convert to Islam as peace)?

Islam gives Christians and Jews (and possibly Zoroastrians) 3 choices:
1- become Muslim
2- or live under Islam and pay Jizya in humiliation
3- or die

Other non-Muslims have 2 choices
1- become Muslim
2- or die

How can there be peace with Islam, a religion that is not peaceful?

Let those who have eyes see, and those who have ears listen.Use them before it’s too late and do not forget that satan is the king of tricks, lies, and camouflage…

[Shakir 9:29] **Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Messenger ** have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.

Sahih Muslim, Book 001, Number 0033:
“It has been narrated on the authority of Abdullah b. 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah said: I have been commanded to fight against people till they testify that there is no god but Allah, that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, and they establish prayer, and pay Zakat and if they do it, their blood and property are guaranteed protection on my behalf except when justified by law, and their affairs rest with Allah.”

Sahih Bukhari Volume 6, Book 60, Number 80:
‘Narrated Abu Huraira:
“The Verse:–“You (true Muslims) are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind.” means, the best of peoples for the people, as you bring them with chains on their necks till they embrace Islam.”’

[note: The verse it is referring to is Sura 3:110 in the Quran]

Islam is our friend?

exactly…if they dont believe in God, they suit themselves…they cannot impose on us not to believe in him…and they dont put us under a law where you have to suffocate and be humiliated for a cult.
