There are many threads on Mohammad here. I am only reminding you that it is not exactly correct statement to say that Mohammad was peaceful and Islam not spread by the sword. They are different views on this obviously but history shows that force was used either by Mohammad or in the spread of Islam at one time or the other. You fail to admit the dark side of him though.

He looted and stole for a living, he had people assassinated for writing satyrical poems about him, he raped women captives after torturing and killing their husbands before their very eyes!
If he did, then it would undermine the entire concept of free. There is no merit or virtue in belief without free will. Also, it would contradict the very text of the Quran that says “no compulsion in religion”

How ironic for a Muslim to talk about free will since it’s non existent in Islam! Islam strips Muslims of their personality and individuality and turns them into members of the “ummah” all thinking and acting the same way, dressing the same, eating and drinking the same things! How can this be free will? You may have embraced Islam of your own free will, but that’s the end of it as far as Islam is concerned! You can’t even question your faith!.

Why would God create unique human beings and expect them all to be carbon copies of each other? That makes no sense.

As Iranian ex-Muslim Amil Imani puts it:

An elaborate package of mostly illogical and bizarre prescriptions and proscriptions comes with the Islamic offer, covering every imaginable aspect of life. In the matter of being a good Muslim, nothing is left to chance that one needs to figure out for himself. “I think, therefore I am” said Rene Descartes in substantiating his claim to being a conscious being. “I don’t think, I faith; therefore I am an automaton,” says the Muslim in absolving himself of the need for independent thinking.

Even the minutest detail of the Muslim’s life is rigidly structured. He is to perform the obligatory prayer, for instance, five times a day at the exact appointed times. He must drop everything and go through the prescribed gesticulation and recitation of the verses while facing Mecca. Before saying his prayer, however, he must perform ablution. The Ablution, using water, must be carried out in a precise manner and sequence. In the absence of water, the faithful can substitute soil for water and go through the practice of “purifying” himself by running soil over his hands, arms, face and feet. After completion of ablution, as prescribed, he may proceed to say his prayer unless he commits flatulence. In that case, he must re-perform the ablution all over again.

In short, Islam treats its believers as children irrespective of age. An extensive cadre of mullahs and imams, who themselves are thoroughly indoctrinated, minister to the children. These professional leeches—the mullahs and imams—systematically program the mind of their charges through liberal use of fear, threats of hell, and occasional promises of eternal life of bliss in Allah’s paradise if they be obedient good children"

Uthman ibn Hunayf relates:

A blind man came to God’s Messenger and requested him to pray to God to recover his eyes. The Messenger said: “If you desire, I’ll not pray-being blind may be better for your afterlife-or I’ll pray.” The man chose to be relieved of blindness and the Messenger told him: “Go and do an ablution. Then pray two rak‘as and say: ‘O God! Surely my appeal is to You and I turn toward You through the Prophet Muhammad, the Prophet of mercy: O Muhammad, surely I turn toward God through you, that He uncover my sight. Both Muhammad and the Quran lied, since Muhammad claimed that the Quran was his only miracle and the Quran states that Muhammad was only a warner!
Yes, In a similar fashion as the blind man, people today continue to be healed miraculously through the messenger and his holy family (as). For example, the prophet said about his grandson al-hussain (as) the following:

God has specified my son Hussain with three: divine leadership from his progeny, healing in his earth, fulfillment of prayers under his dome

there are examples like the one below every single year.
