why do we as Christians tolerate when Muslims burn the Bible or crosses but if we make a joke or reference to anything of the Islamic faith, there would be war?

I’ve not made such a claim since there are none, though it is not unreasonable to make some connection.
Rules were quickly adopted after the death of Mohammed based upon the tenor of the Quran that severely limited the rights and freedom of the non-Muslim under their control such as 2:193/216 and 9:29.
For over 1000 years the small populations of non-Muslims that refused to convert were subject to rules known as the Pact of Umar and if not adopted fully by Muslim governments it inspired a discriminatory and 2nd class attitude toward the dhimmi in all of them and is still true today in most if not all.
In most cases churches were not allowed to be built or repaired and the display of non-Muslim religious symbols was banned or severely muted. Generations of apartheid type bigotry indoctrinates Moslem populations to find this old normal the desired outcome. The new normal is rejected and Muslims today show little respect for their own mosques of an opposing sect so it is not unreasonable to assume Muslims of the past and maybe present have burned a church or a bible over a millennia influenced with some justification by the Qur’an.
It’s been 150 years since slavery was ended in America and far less since racism towards blacks and American Indians has been our new normal. Segregation and the sub-human tag on blacks and American Indians was the old normal of the 150 years before. America is not as old as Islam so the effect of dhimmitude on hundreds of millions is not to be denied or ignored.

LaMar mentioned atrocities by Catholic Yougoslavian forces, you objected as there was no Biblical precidence for this, if that is so, then why Absolve Christianity for things done by Christians not commanded in the Bible, but condemn Islam for things Muslims do not in the Koran?

We rank freedom and independence highly and honor and shame is becoming politically incorrect. Freedom and independence trumps almost everything.
They rank honor and shame highly and freedom and independence (individually anyway) has little value. Honor and shame trumps almost everything.
Therefore, we are tolerant of others behavior, and most people say why should we feel like our honor is under attack. They are just expressing themselves.
It’s just the opposite for them. If their honor is challenged it’s like the biggest thing in the world, and somebody has to pay.
I’m sure there is more to it than that, but that is all i’ve got. I’m speaking in generalities, of course. Not hard and fast rules.
