Good day everyone!

It’s been repeated here over and over by our muslim members that the Bible has been corrupted so I put this question forward for replies.

When exactly do you believe that the Bible was corrupted and by whom?

Actual corrupted data/information would be greatly appreciated…!

Thank you!

While we’re waiting for a Muslim to respond, I’ll offer this from conversation I had years ago with someone of the Islamic faith:

The Bible has been translated from one version and language like the children’s game of “Telephone”. The end result is error compounding error. They believe that because the Koran is still in Arabic, there has been no error in translation.

The difficulty that I see with their position on the Bible is that they fail to recognize that scholars today have access to manuscripts that the earlier editors did not have available. Researchers and translators today can access copies of the original language manuscripts (the originals no longer exist) and know with a high degree of certainty what the original text must have said.

Translation is a very weak and absurd argument because Jesus’ crucifixion will not change from “He was not crucified” to “He was crucified” and the crucifixion alone exposes Islamic claims since even non-Christian sources and first and second century catacombs in addition to the apocrypha, all of them refute Muhammad.

Muslims love to believe that people after Jesus corrupted things *willingly *so that to change who Jesus is, what He taught, and what He did. As to when , by whom, which church, which language, which country, i’m not holding my breath since they have no answer…they do not even know it was a geographical impossibility because they think that, like Islam, the Bible existed in one spot on this planet.

You could easily substitute Mormon for Muslim and your statement would still be true.

Neither of them realize that the New Testament books were translated into dozens of languages and thousands of copies soon after they were written. More of these ancient translations are being unearthed every year. They all agree exactly. It is truly miraculous how God has protected and preserved His word. It would have been impossible for any person or any organization to have tracked down and altered all of these ancient translations all over the world.

Then there are the writings of the Early Church Fathers, who quoted scripture liberally. One could reconstruct much of the bible from their writings alone. Their quotes, written in the first few centuries after the resurrection, agree with each other and with the translations we have today.

Any scribal errors that crept into manuscripts through repeated copying have now been corrected by comparing with the oldest manuscripts in Coptic, Syrian, Arabic and many other languages and with the ECFs.

And then there are the Dead Sea Scrolls, including the copper scroll containing most of Isaiah, which agrees in every respect with our modern versions. No doctrinal or historical differences whatsoever.

Paul

yes i agree with you Paul …few know these things…Muslims think Jesus brought/wrote a book that existed in one spot and then humans corrupted it…they’ve always had problems with history and geography as well it seems because in light of how the gospels were spread, only God Himself could have corrupted them in His omnipotence.

I love the way Pope Benedict XVI tackled historical Jesus’ in his book Jesus of Nazareth: “The historical Jesus usually mirrors the face of the man who comes up with it” (my paraphrase)

Hi

Since Jesus did not write anything himself for a gospel, he did not dictate anything to any scribe; so the four gospels have only a blurred glimpses of the revelation of Jesus from God Allah YHWH and the accounts of his life, in my opinion. It covers only three years of his life and mostly revolves around the even to Crucifxion. Even this event has not been correctly written by the writers; so it is clear that it started with obvious faults in it and does not present full account of his life.

This is only my opinion; others could believe differently with reasons.

I love Jesus and Mary as mentioned in Quran.

Thanks

Hi

In my opinion NTBible got corrupted as soon as one believed that Word became flesh; and the person who invented this idea, might be Paul, in my opinion.

I love Jesus and Mary as mentioned in Quran.

Thanks

paarsurrey, our dear image and likeness of God!

St. John wrote in the Gospel:

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father” (John 1:14).

The Bible is uncorrupted because it is written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God, and God can not inspire corrupt teachings.

The Father in His love for us, sent us His only begotten Son, who assumed a human body and a human soul, becoming Man in all things but sin, and whosoever believes in Him, and perseveres to the end in holiness and love, will have eternal life! 🙂

Here is an Assyrian icon for you, I hope you like it. It is the icon of Maolada, which is Aramaic for Birth. It is the human birth of the Son of God. The Son of God became the Son of Mary, without loosing His Godhead in the assumption of His Manhood:

I love the real Jesus and Mary as mentioned in Holy Scripture and Holy Tradition! 🙂

God bless you,
