As Moses is considered a prophet are his creation stories found in the book of Genesis accepted or does Islam have a differing version of creation?

Peace,

George

Just curious…are you a Muslim or a Christian? If a Christian, I’m not sure of the importance of the Muslim view of creation. Islam was started by Mohammed after he claimed he had a call from the Angel Gabriel. He never showed a single sign (miracle) as proof his mission was from God as we see Moses, Jesus and the Apostles repeatedly do to prove their missions. Mohammed’s claims were unfounded and could easily be claimed by anyone. God allowed undeniable first class miracles through Moses so that all would believe The same occurred for Jesus, the Apostles, and the Saints that followed. Never has there been even one first class miracle from ANY muslim. I have even asked muslims about first class miracles to prove their religion was started from God and they admittedly have none. Their only claim was that Mohammed writing the Koran was a miracle! Muslims are speechless on this topic. This is a false religion there is no two ways about it, so whatever view of creation muslims have is most likely from Genesis as we have, or is most likely falsely claimed as inspired from some other source. Once I know that religion is false, I don’t care much about comparing their views after that. Just my $.02

If you ever read the Qur’an I believe you would find something similar about creation according to Genesis in the Bible. There is no different version except the sun set in the muddy pool.

What’s key is that while we believe Moses (PBUH) to be a Prophet, there’s no way Moses (PBUH) wrote everything in the modern Pentateuch (ever come across the “Documentary Hypothesis”).

There is no sequential Creation narrative in the Qur’an, though it does say God created the world in six days. The start of it all in the Qur’an is where it God tore asunder a gigantic ball of matter, which formed the building blocks for everything in the universe. After this, God made the stars and planets and fixed their orbits, and the earth out of “smoke”…apparently the dusty gas and material caused by exploding the giant mass. God must have then filled the earth with water, if it had not been already, because it goes on to say that God created all living things out of water.

Though that’s a summary, there is frankly not much more we could say.

bhlincoln and booklover,

Nice lecture… couldn’t find any place else to post this? I am Catholic (my public profile would have told you that, unless of course the question is rhetorical and only being used as a spring board for your little rant) and I am a member of this forum to learn about… get this, Non-Catholic Religions, Gasp!

Your failure to see any importance in this or any of my posts is irrelevant. What is relevant is your participation in Non-Catholic Religions. If you are not here to learn or discuss and you really don’t care than you must be using this forum to single-mindedly promote your agenda.

Peace,

George

Shenango and TheProphet,

Thank you both for taking the time to share your beliefs with me. Faith101 had told me as much awhile back, but suggested others may be able to elaborate. My question has been answered.

Peace,

George
