Well, I think he was being rude. he was acting Like I needed to be told that the Koran is anti-Christian.

When his IQ approaches mine, he can talk. I KNOW what it says. And the fact it is anti-Christian does not make less interesting. It IS interesting.

I can do without the rudeness.
😦

TK, I think Sam was just pointing the posts out to you to address some of the stuff you’ve been reading in the Quran.

He apparently lives in Saudi Arabia. I’m guessing by his various label style, that he is truly a Christian, but is unable to openly live that life. I’d guess he probably grew up studying and being taught Islam from the Wahhabi perspective, or possibly a various other Sunni school. Either way, I’d expect him to know the actual Arabic. He obviously speaks English well too. I wonder, sir, can you explain the Gospel in Arabic?

IQ doesn’t really predict the accuracy in which one can effectively judge a system. If that was the case, Christopher Hitchens, C.S. Lewis, and the like would(ve) be/been Catholics. 🙂

At any rate, I think he was just pointing out things to keep in mind without having to rewrite what someone already wrote.

Challenger didn’t blow up because people paid attention to the basics and the experts. It blew up because they got cocky.

LOL Tex admits to that personality flaw. He is working on it. 😉

Like I said…based on the tone of his posts, he or she acted as if I was being swayed by what I read. I found that rude AND cocky. Anyway, I said my piece.

The koran **is **anti-Christian and anti Jewish and so are their ahadiths.

If you wish to discuss them, well then open a new thread.

And once again no, Sam was not rude at all.

He lived his entire life as a muslim in Saudi Arabia and the Holy Spirit grabbed him. That is why his profile is muslim by flesh, but faith in Christ.

In SA or any other muslim country converting from islam to Christianity or anything other is punishable by death.

Sam needs to protect himself. You are a new poster and you do not know Sam. Please take the time and read his profile message and get to know him.

I just wish I had the time and money to get him here in the US where he can be free to practice whatever religion he wanted to.

Those who show lust for the Koran often do become swayed from the truth.

How do you know you haven’t been swayed.

Singling me out and telling people to tell me things is presumptuous…and that is rude. I said it was in the past…why is it still discussed?

We simply are having communication problems .

No one is being rude to you

Anyway, I had no idea that Muslims believed that Mary was a virgin and that Jesus lived. This was new to me.

It is an odd thing that they believe Jesus never died. He was taken up and Judas put in his place and it was Judas who was crucified.

I find learning about other faiths helpful when discussing issues with them

Was trying to…but folks like you keep bringing it up

Stick around and you’ll learn much more.

While reading their koran, when you read about Isa = Jesus, it is not the Jesus you and I know through the Bible.

Their book is completely different. Their prophet is just like Joseph Smith. A self proclaimed prophet without any backing. So be it.

Agreed. But I know about LDS, I did not know anything about Muslims. So, I picked up a Koran and started reading. A little over halfway thru. Also watched the movie “The Message” with Anthony Quinn.

Hard to be a defender of the faith if you do not know the other faiths that attack you

Out of Christian charity as well as sheer boredom I’ll make a list of this differences and similarities between Christianity and Islam

Similarities

  1. *]Christians and Muslims both believe in Jesus (whether it’s Jesus I know or the Jesus you know or whatever)
*]They both believe He was born of a virgin.
*]They both believe He ascended bodily into Heaven and the end of His mininstry
*]They both believe He’s the “Messiah” (“Masih” in Islam)
*]They both believe Jesus is coming back to defeat the Antichrist (the “dajjal” in Islam)
*]They both believe in an eternal Heaven as well as an eternal Hell
*]They both have had their share of mutual stances on issues (i.e. pre-martial sex, masturbation, homosexuality etc.)

    Differences

    1. *]Christians believe Jesus died on the cross and then resurrected in 3 days. Muslims do not believe this happened. In Islam, Jesus did not die on the cross, someone else did. Most Muslims believe He went straight to Heaven instead of dying except for Ahmadiyya Muslims who say He died a normal death some time after.
*]Christians believe Jesus is the son of God and for most Christians, God Himself. Muslims do not, viewing Jesus, simply as a prophet.
*]Even though, they both believe Jesus was born of a virgin. God is Jesus’ father in Christianity who concieved Him through the Holy Spirit. In Islam, Jesus’ virgin birth was just that a virgin birth. He was born of the will of Allah and had no father.
*]In Islam, the devil was kicked out of Heaven (just like in Christianity) but as opposed to Christianity, the devil was not an angel. He was a “Jinn”. Jinn is one of three sentient beings created by Allah. The others being angels and humans. Jinn were made out of fire, humans out of clay, and angels out of light. There are good, nuetrally benevolent, and bad Jinn (these are the “shayateen”/demons) as opposed to devils in Christianity which are all bad.
*]The devil was kicked out of Heaven in Islam for not bowing down to Adam under the command of Allah. See he couldn’t have been an angel in Islam because according to Islam, angels have no free will, Jinn and humans however do.

FUN FACT: The legendary creatures called “Genies” are based on the Jinn in the Quran.

Hope this helps 👍 God bless!

    1. Yes…most of that I have gotten thru reading about 65% of the Koran.

Though it it is anti-Christian, I like it better than the Book of Mormon

The Jinn are from pre-Quranic Arabic culture. There are some [read- not enough in my opinion to state as a fact] indications that Jinn might have been pagan deities in pagan Arabia. The modern “Genie” comes from a mixture of pre-Quranic Jinn stories and Quranic Jinn stories.

I stand corrected. But to fair, we Jews/Christians do the whole “pagan deities” becoming demons thing too (i.e. molech, asmodeus)
