When Jesus went into the wilderness, he was tempted by Satan. More specifically, on the third and final attempt, he tried to “buy him off” by offering him all the kingdoms of this world. He literally thought that he could bribe Jesus to worship him. It didn’t work. Jesus told Satan to get lost and replied that only the Lord God deserved to be worshipped. After this final ordeal, Jesus was exhausted and had angels come down to minister to him and help him recuperate.

If Jesus was truly God (i.e. creator of the universe) why did Satan try to bribe him with worldly goods? There would be no point in tempting him if Jesus was truly God.

btw Jesus was and is the only sinless person in history. Since he is sinless and perfect, he must also be God.

Prophets were vulnerable to mistakes from time to time. Take a look at Matthew 15:22 - 29 when Jesus realized he was incorrect for initially ignoring the Canaanite woman.
 
The first verse in the book of John: In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. I am assuming that you interpret the “Word” to be Jesus Christ. It would be a reasonable assumption along this line of thinking that Jesus Christ was creator of the universe.

Satan as described in the bible is a very cunning individual. Bribing the creator of the universe with earthly goods would be a meaningless gesture Bribing a humble prophet born in poverty (to test his faith) is a whole other matter. That makes perfect sense.

“Why do you call me good? No one is good but One that is God”

Why would Jesus deny that he is perfect?
 
Those were the biographer’s words not Jesus’ words. That verse was John’s personal opinion.

it’s like why do you call me good , no one is good but one that is God ,are you calling me God ?

actually Jesus do call himself good in (john 10:11, john 10:14) , which confirm the idea that Jesus is testing the guy who called him good teacher , so you don’t take one verse and ignore the rest for Jesus too said (That all men may honour the Son, as they honour the Father. He who honoureth not the Son, honoureth not the Father, who hath sent him).(john 5:23) and what is the honor due to the Father ? Worship ! yet jesus said people should give him the same honor!

Good ones AC, also let’s not forget Jesus reminded in John 10 verse 30 “I and the Father are One”. And the Jews were about to throw stones at him for blasphemy.

Main thing is we need to read the New Testament including the Gospels in their entirety.

Is He denying He is perfect, or is it that the man who called Him “Good Teacher” does not see/believe that Jesus is the Lord? Following your above quotation the man asks what he needs to do to get to Heaven. Christ replys follow the Commandments. The man replys he does.

Then- And Jesus looking upon him loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing; go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come follow me.” At that saying his countenance fell, and he went away sorrowful; for he had great possessions. Mat 10:21-22

The rich man didn’t recognize that Jesus was the Lord. The above quotation isn’t Christ denying His divinity; it is Christ pointing out the fact that the rich man does not believe/see Him as the Lord. In effect “why are you calling me God when you do not believe I am God.”
