the muslims want to raise the islamic flag over the vatican. it’s clear that the want to destroy the rcc. just my opinion
Watch your source! Joseph Farah is the extreme far-right winger and Fundamentalist Christian Zionist who hates Moslems, who wants us to invade and destroy all the Islamic countries, and who once announced that bin Laden had already smuggled a nuclear device into the US from Mexico. :whacky: :whacky:

Radical Islam has within it the seeds of it’s own destruction. A majority may embrace incredibly stupid systems (think Soviet communism) but they cannot last, the human spirit won’t stand for it.
Exactly! When I was growing up, I remember being led to believe that communism was this massive, unconquerable power. Once I reached adulthood, it was gone. The lesson, which radical Islam has yet to learn, is that governance based on fear and repression of freedom rests on an unstable foundation. Even though it may appear otherwise at times, it is doomed. We have to keep hope because hope comes from God.

I’d like to issue the following press release:
“John’s Popular Front for the Promotion of Catholic Truths” (membership 1) denounces the continuing affronts by the Islamic World against the One True Church. Should these affronts continue, John’s Popular Front for the Promotion of Catholic Truths shan’t be held responsible for it’s actions. The Islamic World has been warned."

I wonder if I’ll get the same press.
Only in the Muslim equivalent of WorldNetDaily.

What does Joseph Farah have to do with this?

Who would be willing to accept that cross? (martydom)

Would you?
Yes. I would be willing to die for the Cross without question. I’ve faced a few situations in my life where my actions could have resulted in my death, so it wouldn’t be something completely unknown.

Yet I do have one unknown question that I pray over. I am certain as well, if the correct circumstances where present, I’d instinctively defend myself and others - which may cause the death of an attacker(s). I pray I would never have to make such decision, to kill or be killed?

i really wonder if war is imminent. To the poster who said though that through birth rates they are waging a subtle war, i agree 100%, Europe’s immigration laws have made it so that in 20 years France will be the Islamic Republic of France, Italy, The Islamic State of Italy. If Pope Benedict were to call a crusade, i would be ready!

I am ignorant about Islam, but what is it about this religion that has made it become the fastest growing religion in the world? I see nothing protrayed by the media or anything else that has given me the inclination to convert to it. What are people seeing in this religion that I am not?

During an interview with Al Kresta, on Catholic radio yesterday, Al had a guest who made an observation I thought was right on the money. I have felt what she said, but her words make it clear:

She said that we should fear most the violent fundamentalist terrorist faction of Islam.

But all who claim to follow Islam are therefore complicit in terror because they have the same goal as the terrorists… world domination and submission to Allah.

I respect those who post here who say that they distain the terrorist violence we are at war with.

But I am puzzled why, overall, so few speak out against the violence… why so many would allow Islam to grow with the aid of violence… and why so many (IMO) would be glad to see their flag fly over the Vatican and the world.

Perhaps some day they will control all things material… but they can never conquer Truth… not just something, but somebody, and His name is Jesus Christ.

.

I would tend to agree with you. Unless cool heads prevail, there will be some kind of war between Islam and Christianity. There’s too much going on - with the cartoons and now this. But, in reality, this has been brewing for some time.

Hopefully, things will work out.

Peace…
Islam has been fighting a war against Christianity for a very long time.

For a while, Islam was contained.

Now that we are relativistic and don’t take our faith seriously, we have allowed Islam to spread - even after they attack us.

We have been in a war for some time.

But I am puzzled why, overall, so few speak out against the violence…
I think this is a bit of a misperception - how do you know how many speak against the violence? It’s not really newsworthy when they do, so we rarely get to hear about it.

I’d not be surprised if a militant muslim leader resorted to such a tried and true tactic again. Obviously, as catholics, we don’t believe Muhammed was taken up for a tour of heaven, right? RIGHT?

So, Islam reveres the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem because it is supposedly the site where Muhammed was taken up from. Since we all agree that this never took place and was Muhammed’s fantasy or balf face lie, does anybody really believe that the alleged site just HAPPENS to be the location believed at the time to have been the Holy of Holies of the Jewish temple? Of course not. Islam aborbed the site, conquered it, and made it an exclusively Islamic holy site. In the process, they banned access to all Jews who had previously owned it as the most holy ground of their faith.

Why not concoct a similar story in order to absorb/conquer the Vatican?

Here is an example of how politicians (sometimes disguised as religious leaders) use hatred to maintain their power. Osama bin Laden is telling his followers that Muslims should unite to fight a holy war against the “Crusaders”. And that Bush is trying to impose Christianity on Islamic countries.

This is nonesense, but it demonstrates that politicians use hatred. Most Muslims, like most Christians are content to live and let live. There is no reason for any animosity.

Those of you who are old enough may remember in the Sixties various groups like the Black Panther Party, and the Black Muslims (not really Muslims) were threatening to burn down the “white power structure”. Again, this was not the majority of black people speaking. It was politicians (the leaders of these groups) promoting hatred to maintain control over their flock. Our politicians in Washington keep racist and anti-Semitic groups alive today with taxpayers money. Hatred is important to maintain control.

We shouldn’t hate anyone, expecially because of their color, nationality or religious faith. At the same time, we need to expose politicians, theirs and ours, who promote hatred.

They’ve been wanting to do this for centuries. Thankfully, they were stopped with the sword.

The bomb terrorists want us to be scared. That’s exactly what they want, with their violent protests. For the Islamic fundamentalists the Catholic Church is the only institution that stands in its way. Mary, Queen of Victory, pray for us!
:amen:
