In Christianity it is better to remain passive than to smite thy neighbor. Vengence and retribution are a way of life in the Middle east. Why dont Muslims follow the Love thy neighbor and turn the other cheek? Why because it isnt in the Quran to do so. Honor and shame motivate the Muslim not whether something is right or wrong, good or bad. Good and bad is not relevant only relevant if it has its implecations in the Quran. To murder someone if he or she defiles Muhammed is a virtue. The act of murder is but a means to reduce the insults.

This is so because to a Muslim right and wrong, good or bad are not appraised based on their own merits. Right is what Mohammed said or did and wrong is what he prohibited. In other words, Muslims are not to judge Mohammed by norms of morality and common sense, but rather the standards of morality and common sense are to be measured by Mohammed’s deeds and words. They also have no such thing as the Golden Rule in Islam!

What about all the lands that Muslims took from Christians before the Crusades? If Muslims hadn’t TAKEN THEM BY FORCE, and harassed Christians, there would not have been a need for the Crusades!

Put simply, STFU is shorthand for “shut the {expletive removed} up”. It is in common usage on most web forums, as shorthand to express an idea, and a way to work around some web forums’ filtering software.

Hopefully this sort of thing does not get out of hand on this website.

I can’t agree with your whole post, but I commend this line. Violence is not the way to vent anger and frustration. Will you tell your brothers and sisters to stop this rioting? The cartoons were morally wrong, but this violence is also morally wrong.

Come on Booklover, you know how this works! If any bad action by any Muslim is addressed (especially one that happened in the past 50 years) the crusades must be brought up as proof that current Christian’s are just as bad!

Yes, many Christians did many bad things during the crusades! We do not deny that. However those actions were not in accord with the teachings of Jesus and will not be accepted as an excuse for modern people to perpetrate the same bad behavior.

Your attitude is totally inappropriate and uncalled for! May I remind you that this is a CATHOLIC forum. I simply asked the question of how Muslins can condone and justify the acts of violence that so many of you commit when at the same time claiming to be a peaceful religion.

Reading the Curan is not going to answer that question. I was hoping to enlist the assistance for other readers who are more knowledgable in Islam. Your use of profanity in response to this question only serves to further defame your religion.

Personally, I have yet to fully read *The Bible * and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. When I have finished reading and fully understand the teachings of my own religion, I’ll be more than glad to educate myself in your religion.
