A Catholic bishop in Pakistan killed himself to bring attention to the persecution of Catholics there. I don’t agree with suicide, but the fact is that these men were frustrated at people ignoring a huge threat. Also notice that they killed only themselves. Neither strapped a bomb to himself and killed others. We should pray for them and also ask ourselves why they did it and whether we should heed the warning.

This is a point that should be made. Neither Christian men killed others. Their actions were highly mistaken but they only harmed themselves.

If this constitutes Islamophobia then what type of phobia are terrorists suffering from?

I think that I would rather belong to a religion in which extremist of my faith hurt mainly themselves and not others.

Let’s all say a prayer for their souls and all Christians suffering in Islamic countries.

A phobia is an irrational fear. Muslims have been persecuting and killing Christians (and other religious minorities) for 14 centuries. That is the truth and not an irrational fear.

Thus, I disagree that the priest killed himself out of Islamophobia as his fear seems fully justified considering the events of the last 14 centuries. Heck, wise up to those people still under the delusion that Islam is the religion of peace - go and ask those Christians persecuted under Islam - there is nothing irrational about ‘fearing’ Islam. We should all rise up and resist Islam for all our worth because the consequence of living under Islam is dire. Just ask the Copts of Egypt or the Hindus of India what it was like to live under the rule of Islam.

Wow, our resident troll just doesn’t seem to quit.

Looking forward to your next forum incarnation…

No-given the hatred expressed by Muslims towards Us I think it is admiarble that there have almost no acts of violence against them in this country. Would they could say the same about their treatment of westerners in their country’s.
It’s not true that we have “almost no acts of violence” against them in this country.

ADC has compiled a report (due to be released at the end of April) summarizing over 600 violent incidents directed against Arab Americans or those perceived to be such (including Sikhs, South Asians and Latinos). These are defined as acts of physical violence (examples include vandalism, arson, beat ings and assault with weapons). Also included are direct threats of specific acts of violence, such as bomb threats and hostile phone calls. Not all cases have been confirmed as hate crimes.

Did anyone bring CAIR - that Muslim apologist site? Whose foundation members have been convicted of terrorist-related charges?

Anyone heard of Randall Royer who was sentenced to 20 years jail for firearm charges?

Or Bassam Khafagi who was jailed for passing bad checks and immigration fraud?

Or Rahih Haddad who was deported from the US for being a member of terrorist organizations.

How about Omar Ahmed who said, “Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran . . . should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on earth.”

It’s only a few letters between dhimmis and dummies but don’t think we don’t know the difference.

Aren’t you the one always complaining about ad hominem?

The report provides documentation for all of its claims. Arguing that people who were part of the group (but who had no role in compiling the report) are criminals is about as fallacious as you can get.

Just wanted to see if you would take the bait and complain about ad hominem.

Not so good if you’re on the other side, isn’t it?

Some uncharitable person may accuse you of hypocrisy but far be it for me to be uncharitable to you.

Heh heh.

Do you even read the links you post? These documents are over 4 years old and provide NO detail whatsover for the alleged 600 acts of “hate” aganst Arabs. We also dont know whether any of these crimes , if they occured, had anything to do with the fact the victim was Arab. The report has the disclaimerr that it could not verify that these 600 incidents were hate crimes.

Uh, you have to click on the “view this document” link to see the content of the report. You apparently did not do this, which is why you’re under the bizarre impression that the links don’t document anything.

Then there’s also that article about a woman being shot in broad daylight…I guess that doesn’t count.

I looked at you links. Even the report itself carries the HUGE disclaimer that they cant pove the incidents had anything to do with the victims being arab. In short all the proved was that for a 6 month period after 9-1-01 600 Arabs were victims of crime. WOW what a startling discovery.

When we lived in Washington State there was a compound of white supremists who lived just over the border in Iowa. These were very violent individuals. The Jewish synagogue which my husband visited had Nazi swastikas painted on it.
Great SCOTT! Iowa has conquered territory all the way to Washington State!?! I knew they were out to be the FIRST in voting, but this is just plain ALARMING! Who knew those farm boys could pull off a massive territorial expansion and total media blackout at the same time? 😉

doh! I meant Idaho!:o

I’ve lived in Iowa also, so I should know better.😛

Iowa has always had imperialist designs on the other states. We must work together to defeat the militaristic expansion of Iowa.

Don’t you see? Corn is part of the plot! It all fits together.
