Isn’t abortion an inalienable right?

I was confronted with this question yesterday morning and it set the tone for the rest of the day. I realize this is a topic that cannot easily be discussed with out strife and conflict. Two ingredients that raise emotions and distort reason. So, I will not write thousands emotionally charged words and thus bring about hostility rather than reason. Instead I would like to make one clear statement and then discuss it briefly. My statement is this, “the growing fetus in the mother’s womb is a human child and being such all fetus’ are – our children.”

Therefore, shouldn’t the question be, “why is it that we do not want – our children?” Or, why is it that we do not love them with a love that we’re willing to die for? Why is it that instead we show such lack of love, that it leads us to kill…

If, one answered yes to the initial question, the answer would be the perfect inversion of the truth. For, no we do not have the inalienable right to abort a child that grows in the mother’s womb -

but the child does have the inalienable right to live.

To love is to give life -not death.

I hate the idea of it, but it is legal in the US. 🤷
A country full of christians that vote too.

Nice attempt at smearing Christianity, but America isn’t a Christian country. We have people of all creeds and beliefs here. It’s a melting pot.

The easiest way to refute the illogical “abortion is a right” is to point out the fact that an action is not a right.

Isn’t abortion an inalienable right?
Inalienable rights: life, liberty, pursuit of happiness

But does one person’s pursuit of happiness give them the right to take a human life?

We are all former fetuses!

Pro-Choicers are terribly deluded when it comes to this issue. They feel it’s their right to kill their own children when that child doesn’t fit in with their lifestyle or plans. They never look at it from the point of view of the child being killed as a result of their selfish decisions.

If we argue that abortion is an inalienable right, then the same would have to hold true for murder, rape, etc etc. An inalienable right is part of a government still comprised of rules and laws for the good of ALL people, otherwise it would be complete anarchy and chaos.

From a Catholic standpoint, there is that nice little commandment …“Thou shalt not kill…” That pretty much sums it up for me 😛

The inalienable rights, as mentioned in the Declaration of Independence, are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
The argument for abortion, during the 1970s, lay in the pursuit of happiness. A person should be able to do whatever he/she wants without regard to consequences. It is a dismissal of responsibility that actions entail.
This argument overlooks the sequential relationship between the three inalienable rights.
Can happiness be pursued if liberty is denied? Does a person have liberty if life is denied?
At what point does life begin if it does not begin at conception? Does it spontaneous spring into being at a later point in time? Is there a human alive who did not begin life as a zygote?
Can a human zygote develop into any other creature?
Unlike slavery, abortion is never mentioned in either the Declaration of Independence nor in the Constitution of the United States.
Would we still be having this discussion had Roe v. Wade upheld the right to life of the unborn child?

NO abortion is not an inalienable right!!
We are not talking about breakfast. We are talking about the killing of a pre born infant who also has an “inalienable right” to its life once its conceived.
The woman has an “inalienable right” to the integrity of her own body, but not to the body of another which is the case with a newly conceived infant.
This word inalienable has been butchered just like babies are butchered in the womb.
And no I am not standing from a high pedestal or even high moral ground…I have had 2 abortions…And I regretted that decision of a million years ago and have regretted it every day since. Through all the joys of my life they have remained a vivid image.
These two children would have been adults today and they had a right to that life, except that I listened to the “its my body and I will do what I want with it” rhetoric of the feminist movement, and whats more believed them for a time. They have left my life, but I still have the memory of my two children who died because I listened to them
SO NO no no no ABORTION IS NOT AN INALIENABLE RIGHT OF ANYONE. Its a sin against the Holy Spirit the Lord and Giver of Life. GraceAngel.

No, abortion is not an inalienable right. In fact, it’s not a right at all. To say so would be to say that murder is a right.

I think someone with this attitude will surely go to hell, unless he/she repents. We are creatures, and our Creator surely has an inalienable right not to let us into Heaven if we insist on being and staying murderers. Hey, it’s his Heaven, his rules. He created Heaven, just as he created us human beings.

The disturbing thought is what would happen if the pro-choice mentality is followed through to its logical conclusion. If we are allowed to destroy unborn children if they are an inconvenience, where does that lead?

Warning: The following link contains no profanity, no bad images, but it does contain the most disturbing thing that I have ever read:
patrickmadrid.blogspot.com/2009/06/dear-mom-i-have-some-difficult-news-to.html

God save us if we ever come to this.

people have an unalienable right to life, not to murder, which is what abortion is.

However, abortion has never been put to a national vote. It was imposed by a handful of agenda-driven judges.
And Congress failed to use its checks and balances to counter the decision.

I’m sorry if that sounded rather bad Eucharisted, but I never did say the US is a christian country. My observations are that many christians dont agree that abortion under all circumstances is wrong or should be illegal, or should they refrain from voting for a candidate supporting it.🤷

All rights flow from the right to life. Without the right to life all other rights are meaningless

That’s because pro-abort lobbyists buy them off.
As time went on, perhaps. It may just be that their voices have been the loudest. As citizens, it is we who choose the people we want to represent us.
More information has also come to light regarding the negative effect the court decision has on women. So this “right” touted as a “woman’s right to her own body,” overlooks the overwhelming evidence regarding the long term effects. With HIPPA, it is also difficult to collect data regarding complications resulting from this “medical procedure.”
I would also like those of us who are pro-life to use the word in the 1956 Webster’s dictionary to describe the procedure that we are truly against. Aborticide is the destruction of the fetus within the womb. It does not refer to therapeutic abortions to save a mother’s life, procedures that have always been legal.

Even if the woman’s health is at risk, there are doctors who can correct the situation without aborting the baby. But the medical profession is more interested in selling abortions than administering legitimate health care at this point.
