Please remind your friend that atheism is itself a world view and it alone claims the truth about god, supernaturalism and the afterlife. It is no more tolerant than Theism, in fact I would argue that it is far less tolerant.
As a Christian, though I cannot agree with other religions when they conflict with Christianity, I can at least agree that there are elements of truth in each religion, and that some are closer to the truth than others. As an atheist you must believe that every religion is at core, man-made and that those who attribute religious experience to God or something like god are deluded. You must also hold that the overwhelming majority of people who have ever lived have been fundamentally wrong about what matters most to them.
The law of non-contradiction states that something cannot be both true and untrue at the same time. If it is true that there is a God who created the universe, then it cannot also be true that there is not a God who created the universe. To believe one and not the other is at least intellectually honest. To believe both is absurd.
