Isn't it time to learn from the left how to respond to people who attack the church?

Maybe the trouble is that Christians are not willing to be as hateful and abusive to those they disagree with as progressives often are. Writing a polite letter is a good idea, but it won’t have as much effect as death threats.
I know that if I had stated my opinion, even in the kindest way, on same sex marriage, I would have lost my last job. Now that I’m retired I can say what I want, but no one is listening.

We do what Christ told us to do. Count it joy when we are mocked and ridiculed. We look at Christ’s passion when He spoke not a word. St Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians chapter 13 that charity bears all things, endures all things, I like one translation that says “charity barely notices when others do it wrong”.

You can’t argue someone into the faith. Apologetics is a defense-only game.
In the beginning, the apostles and St Paul went forth to convert the world, and they did it by proclaiming the truth of the faith. For the next two thousand years, saint after saint has faced heretics and sinners and proclaimed the truth of the Catholic church. What do you feel is wrong with proclaiming the truth of the Catholic church??

Bringing attention is what makes them more popular than they are.
I am sorry, but I must strongly disagree. Bringing attention to the idiotic DaVinci Code book is not what made it a best seller. The unending movies and TV shows that sneer at Christianity do have an effect, as witness the millions who have fallen away from the faith.

Not having a response is just leading more to fall away. If, at the least, Catholics could write letters and demand to respond to some of this hatred, at least some might listen and be saved,

The real question is if we are even about saving souls anymore?
Even if you did do that they wouldn’t be saved anyways.
People are saved every day by apologetics, by prayers, by hearing arguments that support and explain the faith.

Nothing. Everyone with a sales pitch should have the freedom to sling it.

I’m just pointing out that apologetics and evangelism are separate things. One appeals to logos, the other pathos.

There is such a thing as the “Streisand Effect”, and I think that’s what is at play here. The more attention you attract to it, the bigger a deal you make out of it, and you end up publicizing something that would otherwise be obscure. Paris Jackson is a lovely young woman but I doubt she has serious acting chops. Besides, who’s going to see movies these days anyway?

It’s a prudential judgment and people of good will can legitimately differ on how to address it.

That’s because of something else.

Only a small amount are receptive.

That doesn’t work.

Every single human being is important and has an everlasting soul. It is our duty as a Catholic to help save as many people as possible

Funny thing, then about how brilliantly it has worked for the liberals. Even the smallest, the slightest remark that isn’t in full agreement with their tenets is responded to with mass hysteria, threats, cancelling, etc. ANd it has worked and worked and worked. Naturally, I am not arguing in favor of the vile tactics by the left to be used by Catholics.
