WOW! how awesome, thank you for sharing the picture of your beautiful son, I have a huge smile on my face:D

Chovy, maybe he could explain further what “time” means in the 4D ultra-sounds! I know that they are far more detailed than a 3D as I get to watch this video on ultra-sounds that I show to the Earn While you Learn mommies at the CPC I volunteer at. It confuses me as all of them have a time element to them so there must be something I am missing here;).

Brenda… 3d are still pictures 4d are movies (which they can stop to take pictures but that would technically be 3d)

KC that was totally amazing!!!

To be fair on the whole 4D thing, yes it’s like a movie when you are watching it, I saw him actually move, and the way she could capture pictures – if you saw the whole sequence (all 16 pictures) is him slowly moving his head through different variations of profile. So you guys see the great “picture” I got to see the “Live Action” on TV screen! 4D suddenly makes sense to me…LOL

Thanks for all the love guys. I am just so amazed by the pics.

I have to tell you all I called my grandma today at her nursing home (it’s about 300 miles away) and she said “I was just thinking of your new baby and can’t help but wonder what he’s going to look like!”

“WE KNOW!!!” LOL of course explaining this to an 84 year old lady…well I’ll just copy and send them to her hard-copy. I kept saying “Grandma – it’s just like a portrait!” Amazing huh?

My brother worked for GE- the developer of these- and explained:

1D- Length
2D- Length and Width
3D- Length Width and Depth
4D- Length Width, Depth and Time

He got pretty irked when I called them 3D.

Thanks Chovy!! I didn’t know the difference between 3D and 4D but now I do 👍

Our doc’s office has a very old Ultra sound machine. But there is a place about 20 minutes away that does 3D and 4D for a nice price. I wanted to go so bad but DH didn’t want to fork over the money (I didn’t think it was too expensive, $80)…

KC, You are so lucky!! I am due in 26 days and so wish I could have had a cool ultrasound like yours!!! 😉 **

So I guess that means we already have not only 3D television, but 4D!

Hey they can call it whatever they want to as far as I am concerned! It’s pretty cool! I think it’s only considered 4D when they are looking inside a uterus though…LOL

Congratulations! And thank you for sharing. There should be these at every planned parenthood so they could see their little babies fingers and toes and heartbeat. That’s the way to end abortion.

God Bless you and your family!😛
I remember hearing somewhere that somebody was going to make a law requiring all places that deal with expecting mothers (including Planned Parenthood!) get one of these kinds of ultrasounds…but the idea was shot down because pro choicers thought it would pressure women to keep their babies 😦

But it’s still a good idea! There’s been several lawsuits against abortionists/PP recently because the mothers claim they weren’t properly informed before the abortion!
