Israeli-US plot behind pope's remarks: Iran hardline press

Iranian hardline newspapers said there were signs of an Israeli-US plot behind remarks by Pope Benedict XVI that linked Islam to violence and created a wave of anger across the Muslim world. The daily Jomhuri Islami said Israel and the United States – the Islamic republic’s two arch-enemies – could have dictated the comments to distract attention from the resistance of the Shiite militant group Hezbollah to Israel’s offensive on Lebanon.

“The reality is that if we do not consider Pope Benedict XVI to be ignorant of Islam, then his remarks against Islam are a dictat that the Zionists and the Americans have written (for him) and have submitted to him.” “The American and the Zionist aim is to undermine the glorious triumph of Islam’s children of Lebanese Hezbollah, which annulled the undefeatable legend of the Israeli army and foiled the Satanic and colonialist American plot,” it said.

Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei has said remarks by the pope on Islam and violence were just the latest “links in the chain” of a US-Israeli conspiracy aimed at creating conflict between religions.

“Leaders of the arrogant imperialists have already defined the links of the chain in this US-Zionist project by attacking Iraq,” Khamenei said in comments broadcast on state television.

“The issue of insulting cartoons and remarks of some politicians about Islam are different links in the conspiracy of the crusaders and the pope’s remarks are the latest links in this,” he added. The pope’s comments in his native Germany, which unleashed a wave of anger in the Islamic world, came after caricatures published in a Danish newspaper last year deemed insulting to the Prophet Mohammed set off deadly protests.

These guys are waaaaaaaaay out there-----I mean, totally, completely bonkers out there…stark, staring, ranting, raving, drooling, babbling mad out there…we’re talking on the level of Adolf Hitler saying that the Jews were behind all German cases of bleeding hemmorhoids out there, of Jack Chick saying that the Catholic Church assassinated Abraham Lincoln and John Kennedy out there.

Why we even listen to these people is beyond me. Why we even allow them to have the means to produce potato-pipe guns, let alone the capabilities for nuclear weapons, is beyond me. Every one of these asylum inmates is standing there with his eyes rolling in concentric circles and babbling on about Jewish plots and blowing up countries, and we’re supposed to negotiate with them?

Anywhere else on the planet, these morons would be locked up in a cage so they wouldn’t hurt themselves, right next to the guy who’s screaming that he’s the Emperor Napoleon, but in Iran, the booby-hatch escapees are in charge of the government. Just like that little weirdo in Germany in 1933.

I fear we have learned very little from World War II. 😦

Well…Seems ta me that…Jews do have a record of “plots”. Seems to me that they had a rather notorious plot against Our Saviour. “Let His blood be on our heads”, they said. The more I read, the more I learn, Jews were not innocent victims of the Twentieth Century. There are clear reasons why there is and was many backlashes against them over the centuries. It’s considered impolite or even criminal in some places to mention these reasons, but they exist none the less.
We hear very little about the behavior of many Jews in Europe just after WW2. Revenge-seeking rampages, Communist concentration camps with Jewish administrators (yes indeed, Tito encouraged this in Yugoslavia and many thousand ethnic Germans died at the hands of these commisars). You talk to a European survivor of WW2 and he will tell you that Jews were not the only people singled out for murder. Indeed they singled people out too!
I look at someone like Abraham Foxman of the Anti Defamation League who was rescued in WW2 by the compassion of a Catholic family who took him into their home. He repays that compassion by railing against Christians. His “December Dilemma” piece on the horror of having to hear about Jesus at Christmas should be offensive to all Christians.
Perhaps I am stepping of the landing here, but I could go on and on about this. We have to love the sinner, but not the sin, To ignore these things gives us an unbalanced view of history.

Jews aren’t perfect by any means, however that doesn’t make them the agents of evil that the Nazis and Islamic terrorists make them out to be.
