Israelites?

My daughter has a friend whose family professes to be “Israelites”. I knew this family briefly, and I don’t think they are really Jewish, or even Messianic Jews. They do keep Sabbath and do not celebrate Christmas. Wikipedia had something about “Christian Identity” which also mentioned the Worldwide Church of God, Aryan Nation, etc. Anyone heard of modern day religion that refers to themselves as Israelites?

Have they said what tribe they are from? Maybe they are just plain ol’ regular Israelites.
 
Perhaps you could look up British Israelism - they’re not the same as Christian Identity but the latter seem to have taken on a lot of their theories.

Seriously a case of ‘if you believe that you’ll believe anything’ and I don’t think you have to be Jewish to say that!
 
Thanks. Based on the area where they live (WV), I think they are with the Worldwide Chuch of God or one of its offshoots.
