I see two significant “book ends” to JESUS life. First, at birth HE was laid in a “manger”, which is for feeding animals, and they feed them raw grain - which is unleavened - so immediately upon HIS birth, HE symbolically becomes part of an “I am food” scenario within the stable of HIS birth. Secondly, on the night before HE died HE transubstantiates unleaven bread into HIMSELF, and then HE actually becomes food for us as HIS very physical presence then exists within the unleavened bread at the Last Supper - HE has become real food.
The words within the Bible which HE used to perform the Miracle of transubstantiation and thus offer the first Sacrament of the Holy Mass:
Mark 14, 22 - 25; “Take this”, HE said, “this is MY BODY.” . . . “This is MY BLOOD…”
It dawned upon me the other day that the Christian Church is split over the very argument which former Pres Clinton employed to lie about his affiar the Ms Lewinsky, “…it dependes upon what the meaning of “is”, is”.
What other word can a professed Christian substitute for JESUS word “is” and still remain in the truth of JESUS life and the sacrifice HE made to save us?
