'It has been a week since my last Confession"

I want to thank everyone on this thread too. I went to confession last Saturday and it seems like a long time ago. I really feel I need to go again this weekend. My job seems to be the main occasion of my sins:

• Intolerance for people I don’t choose to be with; difficult, demanding, selfish boss inspires hostility.
• Trying not to be annoyed with others who are loud and inconsiderate, being irritable
• Impatience with downtown people, crowds, strangers
• Telling others when someone is mean to me
• Failing at “Love Thy Neighbor” when they’re not lovable

(It’s the street beggars who give me the chance to redeem myself and sometimes I even miss that opportunity.)

The list changes from one week to the next. However, it goes on and on. There seems to be a lot of sin; no need for being scrupulous. Thanks for the encouragement to confess once a week if I feel the need to do so. If a priest should think me silly, so be it.

Goodness, that’s frightening that a priest would discourage someone from partaking of the Holy Sacraments! If you sin, as we all do, I think you are quite right in seeking out God’s forgiveness as often as you can/need to… it’s not a waste of time or being too pious… it’s what he was ordained to do, what you were Baptized to do… what every Catholic should do!
