I concur. And the same goes for you, BlueEyedLady. It’s a tragedy that we cannot speak more frankly when we’re the minority - in school, in the workplace, wherever. We’re social beings, even at work. We like to be able to be heard. And hearing others is, in turn, polite in kind. When everyone in the room is saying ‘how great it is homosexual can marry’ and it is VERY obvious that if a Catholic says ‘I think it is sad’ she will really be in trouble, yes that is a loss of freedom.
BEL, you’re a smart gal, a smart atheist. I’ve seen how you write. You’re not a loud-mouthed, empty-brained pest like 75% of the commenters on YouTube (of ALL kinds). You’re more than capable of politely and intelligently voicing your convictions. It is sad that you’re in an environment where you feel you wouldn’t be received politely if you talked about something as important as whether or not there is a God - never mind other issues.
It isn’t right.
