It's been 2000 years............how about another revelation or something?

Read psalm 90.

“A thousand years in thy sight is like yesterday, oh Lord, and as a watch in the night.”

The psalms were written in the time of King David.

Jesus’ remarks about soon were not related to the Second Coming (about which He said specifically that NO ONE but the Father knew the hour. if nobody but the Father knew, how could the Son say 'soon"? He wouldn’t know.)

The remarks about soon and trials related to the fall of Jerusalem, and that was indeed within the next generation.

Plus we received the all time revelation with Christ Himself. We received the Scripture and Sacred Tradition. We have His Holy Church which teaches all Truth, and we have Jesus Himself come to us physically each time we receive communion.

What more do you need?

Well, since Nietzsche was an atheist, I don’t think even he would have called himself a prophet of God. 😉

All prophecy ended with Jesus.

St. John of the Cross said, “In giving us his Son, his only Word (for he possesses no other), he spoke everything to us at once in this sole Word - and he has no more to say. . . because what he spoke before to the prophets in parts, he has now spoken all at once by giving us the All Who is His Son. Any person questioning God or desiring some vision or revelation would be guilty not only of foolish behavior but also of offending him, by not fixing his eyes entirely upon Christ and by living with the desire for some other novelty.”

#73 from the Catechism: God has revealed himself fully by sending his own Son, in whom he has established his covenant for ever. The Son is his Father’s definitive Word; so there will be no further Revelation after him.

Yeah. What’s more is this thread is starting to sound more like a “gang war” of opinions rather than someone crying out for help. I’m through with this thread. It’s becoming SOP like so many other threads.

So I’ll let the OP shoot down everybody who is trying to help him and his friend can run to his defense with the “!” at the end of her sentences. Go ahead and have the last word. :clapping:

Oh, and you ignored my last post as well. Next time you reply to any of us could you please show a bit more interest, effort and engagement in the topic you so genuinely started. Being a former Catholic who, oh so badly wants his faith in God restored back again, I expect better replies than your usual “yes, i’m really searching,pleading…i want Him to reach back for me…please”. Otherwise, stop wasting our time, your cover is blown. 😉
