It's been 2000 years............how about another revelation or something?

The sun miracle at Fatima wasn’t a mass miracle? 70,000 people saw that one!
questionable at best. and those cryptic messages to the kids too. many people saw nothing and those figures are questionable.

why didn’t Mary just appear to everyone instead of the sun thing.

in my opinion God wouldn’t fool around. he’d do something big, profound, beyond doubt.

we don’t live in God’s time, we live in our time…2000yrs
That’s why we must be patient.

And with respect, we understand it’s been 2,000 years. There’s no need to repeat it again.

Besides, we have the Church as the revelation of God’s presence. And you may say “yes, but that isn’t accepted by six billion people!” and that’s true. But then again, Christ was only accepted, at first, by a small minority of people. He wasn’t accepted by a lot of people.

we need a little impatience.

2000yrs does not help my faith at all.

maybe we’re wrong and there’s nothing…cringe…

excuses, excuses

we need action

2000yrs, soon means soon

i’m not afraid to challenge Him. the old testament folks did it all the time.

give us a break Lord, put a cross on the moon or something, anything.

2000yrs…
What excuses? I met with Jesus personally at Mass earlier this evening.

So we’re all just accidents, huh? Everything in this universe has no purpose at all? I’m sorry, but that sounds like a bigger leap of faith than believing that there is a Creator.

I too have thought about this before. In my opinion, this is one of the things that separates us from the Protestants. To them, God’s full revelation ended when the last book of the Bible was written and we’re now just waiting for Christ to return, just like waiting for a train. As Catholics, however, we have more than that. We have miracles such as Fatima to look back on. Sure, the Church says we don’t have to believe them, but enough of the bishops and cardinals did to deem them worthy of belief. Also, someone here has also mentioned some of the other Marian apparitions as well. Remember, it was a Marian apparition that gave St. Dominic the Rosary.

I’m pretty sure that the reason that there hasn’t been any new revelation on the “new books of the Bible” scale is because God gave us everything we need in that form. God himself came down as a man and gave us how to know our creator. He also gave us the Holy Spirit, which is something that the ancient Jews didn’t have. He gave us the living Church with its living Magisterium. For example, God sent prophets to Israel/Judah when they had turned away from Him. Now, we have the Church, guided by the Holy Spirit, to call us out for our sinfulness (e.g. gay marriage, etc).
I fully understand the feeling that God didn't really mean "soon" since it's been so long. I really do. The thing to remember is that the game has changed since Jesus came. We have the Holy Spirit. We have the Eucharist. We have the Church and the Magisterium. Remember, the last time that doctrines were formally added to the Magisterium was only about 150 years ago.

Jesus hasn’t left us alone. He is with us every time Mass is celebrated - He is right there upon the altar, and in the tabernacle of every church.

He has not left us; He said so Himself:

Matthew 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

If God whispered in your ear, do you think you would recognize His voice?

private revelations mean nothing except to the individual.
that’s why the church doesn’t sanction them.

we don’t even have to believe in Fatima according to the church.

we deserve a mass miracle or private revelations for all believers all at once.
You don’t ‘deserve’ anything. You owe God everything.

sorry,i think believing humanity deserves something for our waiting and suffering.

just like a good child deserves praise and reward. we’re not spoiled.

itullian, to be honest, you are being impatient and unreasonable.

First of all, you are testing God. Jesus himself condemned this when he was being tempted by the devil. You are asking for a sign, when Jesus himself said he would give none.

Think about it this way: Jesus is God’s fully and complete revelation. Everything that God wants us to know about Him is shown through His Son. What else does God need to show us when God has already shown us everything about Himself? Reflect over this quote:
It is as if God the Father is saying to us: "Since I have told you everything in My Word, Who is My Son, I have no other words that can at present say anything or reveal anything to you beyond this. Fix your eyes on Him alone, for in Him I have told you all, revealed all, and in Him you will find more than you desire or ask. If you fix your eyes on Him, you will find everything, for He is My whole word and My reply, He is My whole vision and My whole revelation. --Anthony M. Coniaris

So you want God to speak to you on YOUR terms?
maybe, or his even. people have prayed and got responses right?

why not me. i’ve been catholic for over 50 years man. now i need him.

no response…

Hmmm… When’s the last time you read your own signature? Much experience dealing with crisis of faith, or with what in many folks minds are very legitimate questions?
